Good news? That's the 2nd and last comment you'll have to read from me about it. Bad news? We'll probably see mk455 post that image a few more times before the product is released. :p :D

It needs to have video conferencing and the ability to tether to the iPhone and use the iPhone's phone line for the video conferencing. That would be awesome. Bluetooth and keep your iPhone in your pocket while you walk down the street, using your Apple Tablet. Hell yeah!

+1. I have 0 use for a tablet. Same goes for most people. If the tablet rumor is true I think it would be a mistake. I think a netbook would have been the way to go. How many people do you see absolutly loving their powerbooks and talking about how great they were etc. I really think there is a market for a sub 13 inch notebook, but I dont think there is a huge market for a tablet.

It speaks volumes about how pointless this thing is that the most interesting feature it might potentially have is to serve as an accessory for all the other mac products you already own.

If it actually can be used as a portable input device for a stationary computer, that would be marginally attractive. Otherwise I see no use for a 10" iPhone.

Of course there's a market for sub 13 inch netbooks, but it's not a very profitable market, and it's already too crowded for Apple to have a huge success with another "me-too" product.

Whereas, since nobody has been able to do a successful and profitable bigger-than-palm-sized tablet (the Newton never came close to paying for its development and production costs), this lack of competition allows selling one at a nice profitable price for the first company to create a decent and usable product with larger than cult volumes.
