BTW, what do all you people really use a smartphone for, these days most people don’t even talk on them, most people text, use it like a lap top and play games. At least thats what I see and thats how I use mine for the most part. The phone is the last priority for me but when I need it, it’s never let me down yet, even in week signals! Yes, I know the phone does the texts but it’s less sensitive to signal strength.
My iPhone 4 works flawless!!!
:apple::apple::apple::apple::apple:

Why ask us a question and answer it yourself? And how exactly do you know how 'most people' use their phone? What research have you done or are you just presuming that everyone uses a phone the same way as you do? I'm happy that yours has worked for you but it still carries the same defect as every other iPhone 4, you just haven't noticed it yet. As you say you don't use it as a phone very much so no problem but just remember that some people buy phones to use as phones.

apple, i am disappoint.

it's funny that apple seems to be propagating this 'death grip' scenario, when in fact the iphone doesn't suffer from that. the iphone suffers more from a 'light as a feather' touch. so, it seems that apple has still not even addressed the antenna issue that is afflicting the iphone 4; instead, they simply articulated the limits of any antenna in any cell phone, and successfully diverted attention from their own engineering snafu.

son, i am disappoint.

I phone videos were made by users who want apple to fix a problem. Apple produced video in order to defend a detective product. Most intelligent people and non fanboys could understand that.

I get it the Video’s on YouTube of other phones, Apple planted, I don’t think you have done your home work, I’m sure Apple has!!!
My Apple stock keeps going up and I’m sure it will continue with fake video’s being planted…….

Two things

There are two things going on here:

First, Apple is using a simple PR technique that harnesses human nature. If the media reports over and over and over that the iPhone has a reception issue, people become convinced the iPhone is fatally flawed. If, however, there are lots of phones that might have the same problem, then it gets complicated to understand, and most people choose to ignore things that make them think too much. I'm not trying to be mean — it's just the way most people are built.

Second, Apple is firing a shot across the bow of companies that choose to advertise that the iPhone has a problem. Apple has learned that it's pretty difficult to prove that something works just fine most of the time, and they are applying that knowledge to attack other companies. Sure those other phones might have less reception trouble, but Apple is newly aware how complicated that is to prove.

Uh, what the hell is the difference? No one makes a call with just one finger hitting the sweet spot. These videos show a reasonable grip (its how I hold my samsung) dropping bars on phones other than just the iphone.

Like it or not, its good PR to consumers (meaning the masses who aren't tech forum nerds like us), whether or not its bending the truth a bit.

Whether the phone is in my left or right hand, either my palm or my fingers are bridging the gap on the iPhone. The videos that they continue to show are childish and meaningless. I cannot hold the phone and browse without constantly minding the 'dead' spot. And to be told that it is prevalent in 'most smart phones' is a lie. I own two HTCs and this is my 4th iPhone. This is the only phone with this issue. You know it, I know it, Apple knows it, and everyone else knows it.

Still, it's a great device, but a horrible phone. Can't wait till iPhone 5.

More importantly, I'm an Apple stockholder since 1984. I'm a rich gimp.

And you just signed up this month. How novel! Your cave is calling you back :)

Not at all. It is quite logical to show the idiots out there that bought into the Antenna-gate FUD that all hand held cell phones have the same issue. Whereas with other phone users simply moved their hand hold until they got a better signal the anti Apple trolls insisted in trying to find the weak spot on purpose. Kind of ludicrous when you actually think about it. It would be like trying to drive a car lying down even though you couldn't see just because you want to and then blaming the car manufacturer when you crash!

Well, it's not so logical that Apples OWN PHONE when gently touched in one certain spot makes it **** it's pants every single time. You can just accidentally touch the spot and your phone turns into an over priced iPod Touch. Neat huh! Apple doesn't mention that fact at all :)

Exactly. It's BS.

This is good.

is that supposed to be some sort of euphemism? if so...AWESOME. :p

or are you really not familiar with the phenomenon where you can lightly touch your finger to the side of the phone and it completely drops a signal? in which case, youtube/google/anything is your friend. :)

I tend not to believe the people who cry that the iPhone 4 has such a signal problem. I squeezed the hell out of an iPhone 4 the other day and all I could do was make it drop from 5 bars to 3. Oh, the horror!

I'm your Huckleberry.

Doc Holiday said it all with three words. The iPhone is Android's Huckleberry. Now that's funny.

It has come to this conclusion...you do not own the iPhone 4. So move on.

As John Gruber points out

I thought this was the most interesting statistic from the CNNMoney article,
The iPhone is also the gift that keeps on giving: 77% of iPhone owners say they'll buy another iPhone, compared to 20% of Android customers who say they'll buy another Android phone.

I can't believe that there's such a disparity. Good news for Apple I guess, no matter what network they iPhone eventually ends up on.

Apple is at war against the rest of the tech-world and they didn't start it. They're getting viciously smeared on all fronts: death grip, software vulnerabilities, Foxconn suicides and whatnot...
They're taking ***** in a way I don't remember any other company has been. Even Microsoft who got actually condemned by the European Court didn't get bashed the way Apple is currently.

Wow, are people really so stupid to believe that they would actually believe that video. No one could possibly be so gullible and believe that video. I know that the apple zealots are clinging to every straw but honestly, that video is just pathetic.

You are the stupid one to think that Apple would risk getting in a messy lawsuit by doctoring a video like that one.

With my iPhone yes because it sucked as a phone

John Gruber? The fanboy of fanboys

I am just tired of this.

Damn Apple. Please, just let it die. You're still selling iPhone's out the arse. What is the point? I got it.

Apple has reached a new low with this issue. It's just getting ridiculous now.
