You’re right, in US may not mean status anymore. The thing is that I live in Mexico City, so I’m sharing what I see of how acts middle class people, that keeps showing its status by owning the most expensive iPhone. And I know that this is the same in other countries (may be not USA).No one in the US really uses phones as a status anymore. Outside the US, the iPhone isn't dominant, except in areas where said phone status isn't really a thing (Canada, Japan, Denmark, UK, Sweden, Australia).
So I’m sure that when Apple finally launches a foldable iPhone, they will sell by tons in Mexico.
