So, you agree with me that unions are bad? They are not entitled to my money, either.

As for this "society" meme, makers use labour and customers to enrich themselves. Neither one is compelled to oblige.

The unions in the Netherlands founded the Polder Model, in which they work with employers, and the government for the good of the whole economy.

Nobody gets everything they want, but nobody gets left with nothing, the end result is peace on the workfloor.

That sounds like a threat. Not to worry, we have the power to buy the resistance.

Not only that... we have the power to take our capital to any other international jurisdiction. And then... who is going to create jobs and wealth in the society so the poor can work a future for themselves?

Funny you and I agree on something, Inheritance tax should be the first € 1,000,000 in cash should be tax free, every € 1,000,000 after at 15% tax.

All Property & land would be exempt, this would include farms and houses.
No one would keep any cash above 1m would they, they'd all buy lots of property in their retirement ?

Other people's money was earned because there will always be unemployed people relying on state largesse. If there were full employment, what would happen to the mobility of labour and the ability of businesses to grow and prosper?

In short, it is not all 'your' money. It never was.

What!? It is the fruits of my labours. Mobility of labour is a two-bladed axe, and is of no concern to me.

Someone else? Capital isn't the be all and end all.

We are getting very distracted here.

One of the most anti-tax countries in the world, the US, has a corporate tax rate of 35%. Apple pays one tenth of that, 3.5%. It's wrong and the laws need changing. The US politicians are wise to this and recently when one of their large companies sought to redomicile itself via a tax inversion Replublican senators said they would change the law immediately. I'm glad the EU is finally doing something about this mess with Apple, Starbucks etc.

Someone else?! like who?! who is going to invest their capital in a society that will tax his revenue to oblivion?

Did you see what happened in France when president Hollande recently proposed the 75% income tax for the rich? Many of them gave up on their French passport and took their wealth offshore!

Except that the employer lost control of his own company. No, thanks!

"Bigger = winner" is not anarchistic - it's "might is right" - Ochlocracy.

As for people trying to run my life, a fact of life - the fewer and more responsible the better. You don't get that with Democracy/Ochlocracy.
You've skipped a step. Everything I've read from you screams Anarchy!

The EU is slowly cutting its own throat - not that that is a bad thing ..

It's not as many as you would think, of course the newspapers made a big splash of it.

Yes but OldCodger is living in the past.:D

If only!

So are the Americans. The republican leader of the house has just lost his primary.

As he should have! Miss Lindsey should have, also!

People have been predicting the end of the EU since it's founding in the Coal and Steel pact of 1951.:p

It of course just gets bigger.:D

Reminds me of the Monty Python skit on the greedy diner.
