Are people that distracted that they need a focus mode and a summary of the crud in their feed once they're done being "focused"?
They’re very helpful for things like work, where I want some notifications to come through but not others. Then, when I’m done, I can quickly catch up.

Live text in Photos is good. 👍 Hopefully iOS 15 will not cause excessive battery drain. My 12 Pro Max had battery drain issue since launch day, which was fixed only in iOS 14.4. Have not updated my iPhone since then.
The minor annoyance for me with Live Text is when I double tap in an image in Photos to zoom and instead select text, otherwise it's been interesting

What’s there to tease? It’s basically iOS 14 all over again. 🤔😂
Agree. Majority of daily users on the iPhone will look at this update and be like "a year to make this? This could have been a .1 update."

Apple being Apple (having to release new IOS, no matter how underwhelming it may be ) year to year.
Reminds me of EA Sports and Madden Football game. Releasing a game every year with little polish, just to make some extra 💲

I’ve been running the beta all summer and I think it’s in a pretty decent spot right now. WiFi could use a little more work. I still very occasionally have to toggle it on and off to get it to start working again. Something might be corrupted though, may need to reset my network settings. Can happen with betas.

Have they removed the embarrassing stupid, doomed to fail, contact tracing scheme yet?

Or do we have to wait for 15.1 for that and Cook’s apology to users and the world for helping fuel early fear, segregation and hate?

"We here at Apple have heard LFC2020's plea that iOS looks too much the same, year-to-year, so, instead of continuously improving on an already working interface, we're directing our teams for next year to convert iOS to an all-Memoji interface - we've already licensed the Microsoft Bob technology, and have our designers working on a fully 3D AR version of Clippy, instead of wasting everyone's time adding new features or fixing bugs in existing code. You're welcome!"

(I'm still not sure how one can "tease" features that were fully explained at WWDC.)

Live Text has been amazing. I've used it so many times since installing the beta on my phone. Hugely useful.

I am hoping that Apple will use that to keep me safe from misinformation.

Imagine the brave new word, camera detects I am looking at non-government approved misinformation, and immediately informs me with fact checks.

That would be wonderful.

The phone could inform relevant authorities if I keep looking at misinformation regardless, and perhaps automatically book a space in the misinformation recovery camps - we can just re-use the "quarantine" camps they're already building.

It's a win-win for everyone!

CSAM folks, please don’t forget about it. Just because Apple says it’s on hold, don’t for a second think they won’t add it in the next update.

If you care, say so with your wallet…

Do not update the OS on any of your devices. This may not seem an obvious hit to Apple’s bottom line, but they spend a lot on development. If you don’t upgrade, their investment essentially goes to waste. There are some cool new things coming, but do you really need them or new emojis?

Do not buy any new hardware. This obviously makes sense, but it hits Apple in more ways than one. Not just in sales figures, but it also affects their suppliers and more. If you absolutely need to upgrade a device, buy it used and not from Apple refurbished.

As I’ve mentioned before, it can be hard to leave the Apple ecosystem and it’s not entirely feasible for some us, myself included. That said, you can do plenty without ditching Apple entirely, but you can do what I’ve mentioned above as well as…

Cancel and/or not use Apple TV+, iTunes, Apple Arcade, etc. There are a ton of other options.

If you have an Apple Card, close it. Be sure to tell them when close your account, you are doing it because of CSAM. Just to note, you can recycle your card (Google it).

If you have it, sell your Apple stock.

At the end of the day, the only way Apple will pay attention is when it hits their bottom line and share holders. The days of Steve steering the ship are long gone. Not that he was perfect, but he got it and I have a feeling he would not have approved of this crap.

Tease what you want Apple.
No update for me until they officially STOP and REVERT the development of CSAM and REMOVE all respective code.
I will not let them plant this onto MY phone with iOS 15.00X

Already disabled all automatic updates on phone, watch and mac.
