You know what would really be fun? A Max Mini, to go along with a Pro Mini. So the Mini would parallel the MacBook Pro. Call it the Mini Pro even. So we’d get two Minis this week: the all new Mini chassis with M4, and the all new Mini Pro chassis with M4 Pro and M4 Max.

In this scenario, the Ultra would not be based on the Max, but would instead have its own foundation chip, which would need a name.

While I wouldn’t call the M4 Macs revolutionary they are certainly a great performance leap coming from an M1/M2 if you’re in need of extra power. I only know of the M4 from what I’ve seen on my iPad and even from that I can tell it’s an absolute unit, so on a Mac it should be even better.

To all the people on the fence, this is the one you’ve been waiting for 🤤

The M4 CPU is going to hit nearly 3900 Geekbench single core whizzmarks and 26000 multi core whizzmarks. Intel and AMD latest CPUs are around 3400/21000.

I wonder if the new Mac mini will replace my existing; I'm not hampered by CPU power, but RAM

We already know M4 scores (though Mac M4 scores might be a few % higher, but probably not that much). Your score could be for the M4 Pro.

My guess:

Monday: OS Updates
Tuesday: iMac
Wednesday: MacBook Pro
Thursday: Mac mini
Friday: Nothing or a small surprise

doubtful

I just bought a refurb m3 16" last week

I knew full well m4 was coming next week but highly doubt there's going to be enough of a difference to not save $500

in the interest of admitting when I'm wrong...

when I saw the the m4 pro cores were 10+4 rather than the 6+6 of the m3 pro I started my return but wasn't fully decided

when I saw the geek bench results I dropped it off at ups and order the m4
