5 x Ironman, ultra runner and swimrunner here. I use it. Lots.Who the hell is using these services? People were in shape for decades before smart phones, you don't need any of these. It is not that complicated.
You mean like a TV?My bet is some kind of large screen device dedicated to fitness workouts. Probably wrong but throwing my guess into the ring.
The Apple Fitness+ Instagram account today teased that the service has "big plans" for 2026. In a video, several Apple Fitness+ trainers are shown holding up newspapers with headlines related to Apple Fitness+.

There are rumors that an AI-based Health+ service will be introduced at some point in 2026, but the Apple Fitness+ post may simply be referencing some kind of fitness program or fitness promotion that's designed to help people meet their New Year's Resolutions. It sounds like an announcement is planned for January 1, 2026.
- What's Apple Fitness+ Planning for the New Year?
- Something Big is Coming to Apple Fitness+
- The Countdown Begins. Apple Fitness+ 2026 is Almost Here
- 2026 Plans Still Under Wraps-For Now
The Health+ service that's in the works will supposedly incorporate AI for personalized health recommendations and health coaching. Health+ will rely on the LLM version of Siri that Apple has planned, which isn't expected until iOS 26.4 in the spring, so we're probably not hearing about the service in January.

I was thinking something more like this-You mean like a TV?
Nothing is coming BIG from apple anymore.
Ps and fkck the liquid glass 3 months into using it. Really baaad
I’ve been using fitness+ since it launched and hasn’t really evolved much in my option other than adding additional workout types. Things I’d love to see:
- rep tracking. The app Train does this really well, automatically detecting reps and allowing for weight input to track progress natively
- interval/segment tracking - it’d be nice if the system could capture when change on moderate, all out, or hard effort so you can see a breakdown of effort, similar to what other running apps do
- time to run - similar thing. Would love to see it track segments in a workout
- dynamic training plans. Right now, it’s a curated playlist, but something along the lines of Runna would be cool where I can see my goals and fitness+ can create a truly dynamic plan I can follow along, adjusting based on workouts I miss. It can also use vitals data to adjust when it detects poor recovery or an illness
I wholeheartedly agree with everything you said, with the one caveat that there are many of us who are serious about our fitness and want to track it all, but still not go to a gym.How about also just the basic function of building a custom workout and inputting sets/reps, then saving each workout so you can track your progress over time. Jefit, Strong, Hevy and Gymshark all do this, MyFitnessPal even lets you build custom workouts for the gym.
People that actually get serious about fitness are going to go into a gym or a sports club at some point, and when they do, AF+ becomes useless and people are better off subscribing to a proper fitness app. Apple needs to evolve the service beyond absolute beginners working out at home. There is a massive fitness market out there and all they need to do is have basic custom gym workouts that track sets/reps/time.
It would probably take their team a few weeks to build this functionality and it would be worth hundreds of millions of dollars to Apple.
My health insurance hands out the aino app for free and the ai evaluation is hilarious. I can get anything from 10% to 80% healthy when analyzing the same movement two times in a row. The rest is just recorded exercises that might ignore training a side based on how uneven you are based on that role of a dice ai evaluation. Good app otherwise.AI-based Health+ sounds like fun.
Who needs actual health information when I can have the ******** machine make something up?
Connect the dots. Ads are coming to Apple Fitness+ in 2026 hence the newspapers. Newspapers have ads.The Apple Fitness+ Instagram account today teased that the service has "big plans" for 2026.
