ipad/mac event on the 22nd? mavericks on the 30th? when was the last time they did a demo for mavericks?

I feel like the Mac Pro will have an announcement for the release date and not the actual product itself. It's quite unfortunate, but having zero updates up till now is a disappointment.

Apple: Hey want to buy an iphone?
A person: Nah I already have one.

Apple: Hey want to buy an iphone?
A person: No thanks I still like my 4S, next year though.

Apple: Hey want to buy an iphone?
A person: Nah dude I have this super customizable Galaxy phone. But maybe next year if you put a bigger screen in. Honestly I'm loosing faith in Samsung.

A person: Back away, I despise your elitist attitude and I'm mind blowingly stubborn and inconsiderate.

A person: Nah I make $2 a day sweeping streets with this straw broom I made.

Apple: Damn. 8% revenue growth it is.

If you'll remember back to last year, the iPad 4 and mini were announced two days before the Q4 earnings call (OCT 23rd and 25th).

*edit*
And they announced the iPad 4/mini media event on the 16th. I assume we'll be seeing the same thing in the next couple weeks.

Very interesting. Here was last year's schedule

Tuesday, 10/16: Invites to Event
Tuesday, 10/23: Event
Thursday, 10/25: Earnings
Friday, 10/26: Pre-order
Friday, 11/2: On-sale

We'll see how this year lines up. Already a slightly different schedule by having the earnings call on Monday - and maybe a sign that Apple expects to beat the numbers and dominate the news cycle for the week.

The timing of the call is largely predetermined based on being one month after quarter end. Some product launches are probably slightly delayed so they can be announced after the earnings release and not muddy the waters. But the two are really unrelated.

They do not do product launches or announcements on these calls.

Actually, this is a week later than normal (look back at past several years). Could be interesting.

The "Apple is doomed" comments are starting to get as stale as "Safari seems snappier." Stop it.

And please...

Earnings. Thank you Apple. Whatever.

Please don't forget to inform about the new ipad, ipad mini, macbooks and apple tv as well.

doubt the ipad/mac event is on the 15th.. Q4 annoucement today and ipad/mac event annoucement tomorrow?

They could put the event in the 22nd for a release of products on the 29th, a day after the earnings call.

Either way, chill. They are coming soon enough

i just hope they are not planning on going back to releasing iPads in March of 2014 :(

i wouldnt be surprised either way.

mavericks is 100% for sure coming soon though.

Here we go, countdown to once again not being able to meet unrealistic expectations, and the Apple is doomed comments.

The unrealistic expectations ended when Apple was spiraling down towards $300. You're thinking pre-crash. If you think that, though, it would make sense to sell.

Man, Apple is frakking killing me with the wait on new Haswell-based MacBook Pros, not to mention the very-damn-overdue updated Thunderbolt Display (new case/USB3).

Yeah, really. Microsoft's second Surface Pro is going to have a Haswell processor for crying out loud! Do the Apple executives really think it makes sense (sales/cost wise) to upgrade everything that isn't related to the iPhone so infrequently?

So far all we got was new Macbook Airs, iMacs and iPhones, its now time that Apple pulls the curtain off the rest of its gadget lineup particularly the iPad.

I know this may sound dumb to some, but can someone explain to me how this affects the rumored iPad event on the 15?

Well, if there's going to be an Event on the 15th, we'll see the invite tomorrow. If we don't, then very likely one NEXT Tuesday for an Event on October 22nd- which would be closer in schedule to last year.

Apple: That's good we can't sell to you, we already sold out of 5S, due to high demand :) . Order one and it'll come to you soon™.
