I am really hoping so.

Removing MagSafe in the first place was a pretty dumb move, imo.

All the good reasons why it was dumb can be explained in this quick clip.... By Apple:
No way on Magsafe, just watch it be USB at the new power level. And HDMI? Come on, not a chance. But do expect big themes;
- unprecedented performance, not just performance per watt, but M2 is now 2x the CPU count, memory bandwidth, and graphics that compete with 2" notebooks. Guess 24 billion transistors for fun.
- and used in Pro products, with boring colors but replacing not just the old notebooks but the old iMac.
- guess new partnerships to use the performance, maybe gaming is too boring and expect a feel-good 'we can solve cancer' testimonial.

The actual blueprints were stolen and put on the internet, so MagSafe and hdmi are not your garden-variety rumor this time.

You know you'll use four USB-C ports?

I've never seen anyone do that. They either use one for power and the other for an adapter, or they just use a single port, with a dock/hub.
1 for Power & external display
1 for another external display
1 for external microphone
1 for a dock that connects multiple other external SSD storage drives

I see similar uses from clients and a few co-workers all the time. But the number of ports is irrelevant, it's the TYPE of port. USB-C connections (preferably all Thunderbolt ones) offers me the option of connecting anything via an adapter. If I don't need an HDMI port, there is absolutely nothing I can do with that port if the Mac has it on board already. Same with the SD card slot.

I'm not in love with adapters, but I do enjoy options.

99% percent of cameras still come with SD cards. SD cards are not going away. Apple probably did their research.

oh and I use SD. I bet a lot more people use SD than CFExpress.
I've said this before, but it doesn't have to be either/or - there are combined SD/CFExpress-A slots that read both card types, as used on the Sony A7SIII and other cameras. This is the best solution, and hopefully Apple adopts it.

There will always be people using other card formats, original Compact Flash, XQD, CFExpress-B or C, plus all the proprietary high-end video and cinema cameras storage formats. If Apple does add a camera card reader to the MBP, they will go with the numbers and choose the most widely used ones (SD), and those that are most likely to be adopted in the future (CFExpress)

CF Express A is only used in Sony cameras so unlikely to be the mainstream option when everyone else have went with CF Express B. Apple are better having no port than wasting PCIe lanes for CF Express A that only benefits a very small amount of users.

That MBP announcement was amazing, they really nailed it..... Wait they didn't announce a new MBP, shocking.

Once again, we have been shown how reliable these "analysts" are...they are just regurgitating the rumors that are already out there for clicks!

I went into this event thinking a lot of the headlines were spoilers for what is to come. I'm coming out of the event thinking MacRumors should delete every single thread that ended up not being true, which is a good number of them. Either Apple is great at being secretive, or these sources really are not very good.

We all can easily guess that Apple will make a new MBP for 16" and new replacement for the 27" iMac, because any moron with a pair of eyes and a pulse could guess that.

Don't worry though I am sure in 2 months there will be another event and the crap will cycle again and again.

I don't watch these live anymore, seems pointless. Give me a summary so I can read what I am interested in.
