Apple to backport patches to iOS 18

Please submit your feedback to Apple. If you want 18.7.7 on your supported device (even though you've moved up to iOS 26), make your voice heard.

This is as simple as Apple adding signing for supported devices to the list.

It means having to restore the phone (wiping the device and starting over if you've upgraded to iOS 26), but to have the option for restoring back to iOS is worth it for some.

I've filed my feedback under iPhone and Software/Hardware compatibility category. iPad ideally should be included, though probably not implied!

#Apple (if Apple is listening) could we just have signing turned back on for all currently supported models of iOS 18?

So many would be happy again.

I also logged into iOS 18 dev channel afterwards - to prevent iOS 26 to be installed automatically

I asked the thread to be removed, it was going no where and basically just became a negative back and forth with one of the Apple discussion forum community champions.

edit; they made me laugh as they recommend setting auto update - so device will currently more likely auto update to Liquid Ass iOS 26

26 has more advanced security features.
