He said he'd prefer to be donated to other illness. I don't see anything wrong with that, he and many others might think that Cancer and other illnesses are more deserving.

Who are you to say that is right or wrong. Not everyone shares the same opinion.

It amuses me how the hateful labels start popping up as soon at anyone thinks the money should go somewhere else. Goes to show who the real closed minded haters are.
 
So the company that literally has billions of dollars in surplus can only spare a paltry million, and we're supposed to be impressed by this? Wow.

Their evil little beancounters came up with this as the cheapest possible donation they could make and still get off with positive impression.

Of course, if Apple customers spent $100 million with the intention of helping out, the charity would still see only $1 million... while Apple silently pockets what many people might think was a viable matching purchase.

Apple Pay spending everywhere is supposedly over a million dollars an hour, so Apple's "up to $1 million in spending" with Apple stores/services might happen in just a few days... while the PR will last all week.
