Don't take it to heart so much.

With any product that is talked about the negative will always get more "press".

You just have to seek out balanced reviews.

I know that the mbp is a gorgeous device and will work for most people but there are a lot of negatives that will not keep everyone happy. A lot of those negatives will seem inconsequential to you but to others they might be deal breakers.

I personally feel that Apple is a company that likes to take things away. That is why I give them so much stick on here at present. I used to give them so much praise and stick up for them in the past having owned probably over $20k of Apple gear over the years.

This was different. With a problem like the MacBook Pro, any criticism would be directly solely at Apple, who is more than capable of handling it. There are no innocent third parties caught in the crossfire.

But in the aforementioned case, imagine you were offered a free app you didn't care about. Most people would have just shrugged and moved on. Instead, you had people flooding the App Store with 1-star reviews, not because the app sucked, but because they didn't like the free app being offered. How much more entitled could one get?

So developers hop on board this programme and offer a free app and this is the thanks they get? Apple is better off not organizing such a promotion and saving everyone the headache and hassle and considering we haven't seen a similar promotion in years, I guess Apple evidently feels the same way. It just wasn't worth it.

Fair enough. Care to provide a citation /link that the feedback was bad ? Or are you just as Assuming ? Please back up your statement .

It's been a few years (2013), but I can link you to a discussion on imore. You will find me criticizing Apple as well in the comments section. I admit I was one of those who initially found their efforts pretty "meh" and expressed my opinions as such, though I never went has far as to leave scathing reviews on the developer's App Store. In hindsight, I realized I had no reason to feel that way, and was just grateful more damage wasn't some (by me).

You still going on about that? I had moved on to another topic...

Don't take things to heart so much.

With any reviews you have to look between the lines, I know its hard to know which app is any good when there might be a large number of 1* reviews.

On a related note, Apple doesn't know how to do sales and promotions. Other companies know how to give discounts, Apple just doesn't entertain this which is probably why such negativity in 1* reviews.

No disprespect, it's 83 comments..on select scenarios, as reported by a tiny slice of the internet....and if you read the article apple had thier share of blame how they implemented free episodes. If this is your proof that people are not respectful enough to be given free stuff, I don't agree, just Some keyboard warriors on the internet somewhere. In now way does this proof how appreciative people are, this just shows whiners. Also just like MR does not represent the average user. If you read MR daily you would think apple fans hate/worship the company with such passion. That is not the real world, sales of apple products do not represent MR attitudes.

When you have the user base apple does, no matter what they do, they will get some horrible feedback, you dont take that tiny slice and make it out to be fact...sorry. Internet news sites , especially ones that run ads, love click bait articles , I would be very very cautions trusting thier "facts"

And that's the thing, the poor developers cope the frustration of people lashing out at apple. And they do it via reviews etc. Though reviews are a broken functionality abused regularly , and that is by developers themselves . It's interesting when I read reviews of some great apps, to see many many 1 stars....or crap apps with so many questionable 5 stars....

Yup, fake reviews or poor reviews are a menace and hard to police.

Would be good if there was some system to help.
