Yes, that's what gaming needs. Another launcher app.
The could add that in the Vision Pro version.I’d love to play more games, but whenever I browse Apple Arcade nothing jumps out at me.
If it also removes games and the Arcade tab from the AppStore entirely, I’m all for it. I would like to be able to find indie app gems again. And bring back the AppStore wishlist! Having a separate place for games would make it easier for orgs and edu provisioning to disable games too.If this leads to the App Store app not being filled with game ads all the time anymore, that would be an improvement. That doesn’t seem particularly likely, though.
Oh joy, more pre-loaded garbage. How much you want to bet that it can't be removed, either?Apple plans to preinstall the app on the iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Apple TV later this year...
Currently playing Death Stranding on my M3 mba (sometimes, my m1 ipad pro). It’s definitely not up to PC or console levels, but I’m currently playing Death Stranding, RoboCop, Wuthering Waves, Firewatch, and soon Cyberpunk on my Mac. Seems some full blown AAA games are playable and more are coming.
No one does.Does anyone really want this?
I think there's something interesting here about the market for AAA games on App Store / Mac App Store.
If I buy a game on Steam, that'll generally mean I get it for Windows, macOS, and Linux - whatever versions the developer has made. But if I buy the same game on the App Store, I get it on .... macOS
Now of course the calculation changes when 32-bit macOS games and/or Intel macOS games are no longer compatible, but in general using the Mac App Store has less value simply because it is less flexible.
Pair it with a Vision Pro. Hard to go back to my PlayStation when Mac to Vision allows virtually no latency and I can play on the BIG screen. PlayStation also streams to Vision, but since it’s not Airplay it has to go through the router which adds latency that the Mac to Vision doesn’t have.Currently playing Death Stranding on my M3 mba (sometimes, my m1 ipad pro).
I've already played it before and most certainly it's better on PS4/PS5, but still it is quite nice to play a lovely title on Mac.
be careful people on here don’t like choice and they just want Apple’s way only, I agree with you though !Very good.
Now allow other such store apps from other (more popular) game distributors.
Flip side is I do like playing a game on my Mac, then getting it also for my iPhone. For instance, I started playing Death Stranding and Sniper Elite 4 on my Mac, streamed to the Vision for the BIG screen. Then when I’m at work, I can do some side missions and “reading emails” in Death Stranding on my iPhone while at work. Nice to be able to start a game on my Mac and pick it up on my phone.I think there's something interesting here about the market for AAA games on App Store / Mac App Store.
