Santa Monica and Sherman Oaks has inventory

never posted on forums like this...had to open an account...... long story shot... I was one of those ATT pre orders that got screwed over. I went back , canceled, and had them reactive my upgrade..... just got my 64gb blk at the SANTA MONICA store.... I saw Sherman Oaks real quick... but then it disappeared .. Good Luck to you all !!!

if anyone did get one like me, what emails are you getting. i got the we will tell you when your item is ready, or did everyone get 2 emails saying it was ready for pick up.

None in Orange County

Scratch that! Just ordered at Fashion Island. South Coast Plaza was available for a second and sold out before I got to place order.

So. From what I've seen, they are entering their inventory at random times. Keep checking til 4AM and then try again tomorrow. What a cluster fudge!

Im also a first time poster, this has been my support group for the past 5 hours, than you all! I spent the weekend trying to get one to no avail and now I got my order is being processed email but no confirmation email. Looks like Ill be going into work maaad late tomorrow, no way I can wait all day and have them give away my precious!!!

It showed one available, I selected it, put in my payment information and clicked buy, and it said "sorry, this is no longer available."

How frustrating!

Honestly I am not sure, I thought I read somewhere when they did the original pre-orders you had to be there by 3 or 4? not sure on that though.

Anyway, they're open until 9:30. I don't see why they wouldn't hold it for you until then. (seeing as they update the inventory every night at 10).

Maybe give them a call in the morning? Is it possible to go on your lunch break? Its a tuesday, i doubt they will be THAT busy during the day

Yikes! I hope that's not true. I work all the way out in Glenmont so its kind of a hike. I guess if push come to shove, I'll just hike out there on my 30 min lunch break and just tell my boss I'm going to return 10 min or so late.

I don't currently have service in the US to check availability, can someone please check Verizon phones around zip code 55123? Interested in black 64 and white 32 or 16.

Yeah Glenmont is kind of a hike, Give them a call in the morning. If you want when I pick up my phone i'll see what they say and send you a PM. Hope all goes well!

only email i got was "Your Order is being processed"

Is it possible that I can just pick up the phone and activate it on my own? I don't want Apple wasting my time opening the box and everything and activating the phone being that I might be on my 30 minute lunch break. Is it possible to buy these things without having to wait for customer care to do everything for you?

I believe you can buy them device-only with reservation. I just can't even reserve them without carrier info. URGH.

That'd be great, thanks alot. Btw, did you get a "Your item is available for pickup" email? I saw one user post that on here and I have yet to get mine.

I'm somewhat confused. So when I go in the store tomorrow I have to have them open up the phone and activate it themselves? Im trying to save time because my branch is short staffed tomm and being 30 minutes late from my lunch break over a cell phone isn't gonna bode too well with my boss.

No I didn't get a confirmation email either, I put in my phone number for a text when it is ready too. Guess the Albany store doesn't have apple's inventory elves working overnight to process our orders. I'm sure they will be ready by open tomorrow, or an hour after.

From other people's posts it looks like the stores they are ordering from are in more populated areas than ours; just glad we got to order it instead of waiting until the end of next month!

EDIT:

You should be able to buy just the phone and activate it later, just explain your situation they are usually really good with people there. They should be we just spent a lot of money on their product. I've never had at&t before but I have purchased sprint phones and activated them at a later date over the phone. Never bought one from apple before though so I'm not 100% sure. Sorry!

Any Southern California people get the "Ready for in-store Pickup" (Not to be confused with the confirmation) Email yet?

It depends if you're paying full price for the phone, if you are, then they should be able to sell it to you device-only. Otherwise they will have to activate in-store, but that takes very little time, you should be in and out within 30 minutes.

What I want is the 2 Verizon phones device-only, without activating service, and it doesn't seem like I can do that with reservation, will have to go to the stores and hope they will have them in stock.

I don't see the 64 gB black ATT anywhere in SoCal. I saw the white in Mission Viejo but I don't want the white.

If we got the confirmation email saying that our orders were being processed and that they are in stock for tomorrow does that mean that we secured the phone? I have not gotten an email saying that it is ready for pickup yet.
