As long as it has a landscape Face ID module, this is the refresh I've been waiting for. My 2016 9.7 Pro is an absolute trooper -- with patience, I still use it for Lightroom Mobile -- but its best days are way behind it. I'm not sure if I'd get an Air or a Pro; I like the idea of OLED but it's not necessary, and sadly "Pro" devices get no interesting colors. Apple, just once, try a Pro device in red.

I think I’m going to trade-in my 11 inch M2 and get the new 11 inch I want the OLED hopefully the chassis is better. We’re not sure what it looks like yet. Landscape camera would be good.

The introduction of a 12.9 inch iPad Air tells me that the new iPad pros will be getting a not so subtle price increase.
Currently the pros are 799 for the 11 inch and 1099 for the 13 inch, and I would bet that the new iPad airs are $599 for 11 and $799 for 13.

Personally, my expectation is that the 11 inch pro will be $999, with the new 13 inch pro starting at $1199.
That means there would be a $400 difference between all of the Airs and Pros, assuming the new air starts at 128 GB.

So:
$599: 11 inch iPad Air, LCD 60 hz display, M2.
$799: 12.9 inch iPad Air, LCD 60 hz display, M2.

$999: 11 inch iPad Pro, variable refresh up to 120 Hz OLED display, M3.
$1199: 12.9 inch iPad Pro, variable refresh up to 120 Hz OLED display, M3.

This does seem like a very messy lineup, but it also means that you’ll be able to get a 13 inch iPad Air with Pencil and keyboard for almost the same price as a MacBook Air, and if you opt for an 11 inch it should be several hundred dollars cheaper.

This is all great, but it means nothing if there’s not massive software improvements.
Those are insane starting price points and would force many, myself included, to move away from iPad.

Good, I'm interested in a new 11'' iPadPro. My current 2017 10.5'' iPadPro's battery life is not great anymore and seems a bit slow.
My 10.5” had some ugly LCD issues, so I replaced it in April with an Apple refurbished 11” M1 for $639, got a Mac Magic Keyboard (which will never be “obsolete”) and found a new old stock SmartFolio on eBay for $42, so I’m all set until OLED hits the refurb store years from now.

Imagine they released it during the christmas return period 😂

Buyers regret, a certainty for Macrumors people. Always worrying, always doubting.

Just wait for Apple Ipad Air M4, you're gonna love it. We cant wait to see what new things you will do with iPad.

I am ready to replace my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 inch. It's so slow now and only has 64GB 💩. I hope they launch it early march
What do you do that makes you notice it being so slow?

Genuine question, because I have the same model and I can hardly tell a difference in my use cases compared to my M1 iPad Air. Nothing that would make me call it slow, at any rate.
The only thing I noticed is that sometimes Safari switches to tabs I didn’t tap on 🤔

I'm in a similar situation. 2018 iPad Pro 12.9. The speed is still fine for my uses, but the battery doesn't hold a charge very well. And the 64GB storage is almost full. I'll be upgrading day 1.

I would like to see them announced during the next WWDC in June 2024.

Why? Because if released during WWDC, which is primarily a software-centric event, Apple could take this opportunity to announce a new version of iPadOS with more so-called pro features. It would make sense to announce both the new iPad Pro and "pro" iPadOS at the same time.

I do not believe a single word this man says about iPads, only higher spec iPad Pro’s will have the M3? Bull… and he may as well just not mention the iPad Mini as he basically hasn’t got a clue about it if you read between the lines.

Apple will boost flagging iPad sales by fragmenting the model range even more, according to Mark Gurmen.

OLED probably but the ret of it? Believe it when I see it.

But that would require plans to introduce such updates to iPadOS ;D

Can't imagine needing an M3 in an iPad. The M1 is already mostly wasted in my iPad Pro 12.9", even using it for drawing and photo editing. Maybe if I used Final Cut on it.

Now that I have transitioned away from Intel to a smaller, much more powerful and efficient 14" MBP with the M3 Max, I'm questioning if I need an iPad Pro at all in the future. The software just isn't where I want it to be to be able to get a lot of real work done, so I think I'm going to stop forcing that and just stick with my new, more portable Mac.

What I do know is that I definitely don't need a 12.9" model. I remember the rumors were saying the OLED iPad Pro was going to add like $700 to the price which seems insane to me. Will definitely not pay that, but IDK if I trust that rumor. I'm sure it will be higher but probably not that much. Even so, as a kickback device, I think the iPad Air with a year behind M-series chip will be more than capable. My only issue is I watch a lot of video on my iPad, so OLED would be nice. I'm currently satisfied with my MiniLED display, but a smaller iPad makes more sense. Hope Apple keeps MiniLED around for the iPad Air, in both sizes, because I think it's fine for watching video. It looks good on the MBP, and OLED looks even better on my LG TV and iPhone Pro, but I don't know if I could go back to a standard washed out LCD for watching video. Feels like that would be really annoying.

I might get tempted by that 13'' OLED screen and my wallet won't be happy at all.

With the fragmentation like this of different models different sixes and different processors on the same model range, the iPad Mini is a lot more simple for folks, choose cellular or not and storage size.
