On that front I'm curious how many Galaxy Tab Ultras Samsung actually sells. It's an interesting size, but the market has to be niche given how unwieldy they are as tablets.
As an Apple consumer since 1983, I just switched from my M1 iPad to the S9 Ultra. I do not feel the S9 is all that larger than my iPad. The difference is very slight, and has more to do with the aspect ratio; longer vs. taller. 🤷‍♂️

So glad I bought a 2022 iPad Pro. Last good one before they ruin another product line with headache-inducing OLED.
I'd recommend giving it a shot. I didn't get the iPhone 11 Pro due to the eye strain from PWM and opted for the 11. I currently have the iPhone 15 PM and have not experienced any adverse effects. Maybe they've been fine-tuning things over the years.

I've been patiently waiting to upgrade my 2018 11" iPad Pro (A12X). It's still been great for my needs - I don't really need the performance (M1 would be fine, let alone my current A12X where I never feel wanting), it's really the 120Hz Pro Motion screen that is the biggest selling point for me. As I use it frequently in bed at night as my primary consumption device, switching to OLED to get the more inky blacks would be a nice change - as I keep these for many years (current one going on 5+!), I don't mind paying the premium for the Pro...

Sounds like a messy lineup, especially if older models are kept around alongside these.

It sounds similar to the current iPhone and MacBook lineup.

iPhone 15, 15 plus.
iPhone 15 pro, 15 pro max. Each upgraded versions of the base 15 and 15 plus.

13” MBA, 15” MBA
14” MBP, 16” MBP

11” iPad, 13” iPad (probably a larger version of the current iPad Air)
11” iPad Pro, 13” iPad Pro

They may drop the 9th gen iPad while the 10th gen iPad can be ignored as it is likely for educational institutions.

Hardly seems messy to me.

I am ready to replace my 2018 iPad Pro 12.9 inch. It's so slow now and only has 64GB 💩. I hope they launch it early march
My wife's 256GB 2018 12.9 iPad Pro still is blazing fast. She still uses it for a lot of her photo editing and hasn't noticed significant slow down yet. Truly a device way ahead of its time (or software).

That makes a lot of sense. I am hoping for an even larger iPad Pro, close to 14" or larger. I think with the assuredly shrunken down bezels the 14" wouldn't be all that harder to use and would be amazing for artists and professionals.

If it was just iPad and iPad Pro it wouldn’t be messy. But you have 2 different iPads, iPad Air and iPad Pro and they all overlap a bit in terms of specs/features.

OLED will be nice but honestly until Apple steps up its game with iPad OS, it’s doesn’t make any sense for me to upgrade. iPad hardware advancements have continued to outpace ipad OS’ capabilities year after year.

Four iPads? lol. Man, do I miss the Job's era of one iPad to rule them all. It was much easier to get excited, and much, much less confusing for the average Joe.
Really? Do you miss the Steve Job era when no one could purchase a iPhone (or iPad) unless it was from AT&T ? Oh yeah, it was also software locked to ATT.

It's no different from the iPhone 15 vs 15 pro paradigm, IMO. How much do you value the extra features that come with the pro version?

Let's assume the iPad Air gets refreshed with an M2 chip next year. That's likely Apple's definition of the base iPad experience, and it likely suffices for the majority of users. The M2 chip is more than enough to run whatever you throw at it (and for most people, the most taxing app will be games like genshin impact, not Final Cut Pro). it supports the Apple Pencil (again, likely for basic note-taking, not art) and smart / magic keyboard folio (pricey but again, most people won't be opting for them, so Touch ID is an acceptable compromise when you don't need to unlock your iPad by trapping spacebar twice). Screen is fine, speakers are fine, camera is passable for scanning documents, everything is just "good enough" for consumers.

This also gives Apple room to raise the price of the iPad Pro if necessary (OLED screens, if it gets them, won't be cheap). Users have the option of paying more for maybe the M3 processor and better screen, but they aren't getting anything they couldn't do on the iPad Air. It's really just paying more for "niceness" and I suspect the price difference will be enough to make it fairly obvious to users which they ought to get.

An OLED iPad is going to be sooo good. iPad has always been my favorite way to edit images. There's something about adjusting sliders with your finger that feels so much faster and more organic than using a mouse/trackpad. Also the convenience of the iPad form factor + the fact that you can show others the content. I don't imagine the Vision Pro's finger tracking will be as optimized and quick as an iPad.

What would the Mac/Apple rumor sites do if there was no Bloomberg's Mark Gurman?
Do they actually have their own sources or do their own research?
Given the quality of reporting during the Titanium "overheating" fiasco, I would say that not only do they not do their own research, they don't do their own thinking either.

Not gonna lie, if the keyboard accessory looks all brushed metallic lean and good, I might get suckered into buying one. If it’s compatible w the older 12.9 M1 IPP at all, that is. Just because I’ll probably think the setup looks cool.

Though reason might strike and remind how far off ipadOS is from being able to serve as a good laptop OS for me anyway.

Yeah it's rough, when something looks so cool and is so flexible on the hardware side, but so limited on the software side.

Personally I feel like something that costs that much should have some sort of pro mode that gives you macOS functionality. At this point I think I'll be holding on to my 11" iPad Pro M1 for a good long while.

MRs used to quote a lot more sources than they seem to now, I think that’s the result of Apple cracking down hard on leakers

It will be interesting to see if Apple makes the new Magic Keyboard with batteries built in. If they’re going to make it look more like a laptop, assuming the keyboard portion has some added depth, it could easily have integrated batteries that would then extend the operating time to get closer to that of a MBA. It’s the one complaint I have with my M1 iPad Pro 12.9”. I don’t need an OLED screen nor do I need more power, but longer battery life is definitely top of the list for what I want to see in 2024.
I love this idea. It seems like a really good way to extend battery life for “laptop” use while also keeping the iPad itself small and light enough for tablet use.

Meanwhile we need iPad Mini Pro, with calls enabled too (I'd even pay extra for that ;)
Tbh I’d love that on all iPads. It would make my life a lot easier when I’m working from my iPad and have to take calls for work.

Thats because they had a deal with ATT. In exchange for a couple of years of exclusivity, ATT not only made network and backend changes to support iPhone features like VVM, but they also gave full control of the iPhone experience to Apple which was counter to how every carrier worked. SJ offered the deal to Verizon first, but they wanted to control all aspects of the iPhone, from the hardware features to installing Verizon bloatware to putting their logo on it.

PS. When a Verizon iPhone 4 was finally released, it was a physically different CDMA version.

Will be interesting to see the pricing of the new models. Looking forward to seeing the new Pencil
