Will stop by next time I visit Shanghai.

As for all the ignorant comments about China, you won't know until you go. It's rather difficult knowing much about a place halfway around the world, especially for us North Americans. If you have the chance, go and take a look for yourself. It'll be a pleasant surprise.

Seriously...

Ah, yes, clever idea. Will be fun when China then decides to wreck the dollar because they don't need the US anymore.

That may happen anyway. Since the Chinese own us (through out debt) they're going to use that as leverage against us whenever they can. The Chinese are smart, if they have some leverage against us, they'll use it.

Of course, since they have such a substantial investment in US currency based investments, they also have a vested interest in keeping us alive.

We didn't need china ever and we did well for ourselves, we can also go to war. They need U.S tech to continue to function.

we can also go to war.

Blow up a country's cities because they start selling off your Treasury bills? I know many, many Americans, and they are all fine, decent people. None of them have ever expressed the sort of moral bankruptcy evident in this post.

Gotta love the prospect of CDMA China Telecom revenue. Another instantaneous million+ iPhone buyers when the deal is inked$$$

I wonder how Android's doing in that market?

Me too. But check out some of the comments on foxnews.com when a story about China comes up. It's hard to see how it'd be in China's interest (or that of the US) to start a war - but let's see what happens when China's economy overtakes that of the US in 20-30 years.

Anyway, back on topic: yay, new Apple Store. Oh, that wasn't very exciting anyway.

Here's the first comment I read:

"Now ask yourselves why in the world would we like to submit ourselves to a socialistic dictatorial government like that of China or any other socialistic dictatorship? Once a government controls the money supply, the guns, the, businesses, the communications (internet), the energy the food and the military they have us. Then ask yourselves just how much more control and restrictions does Obama and the Democrats and company have in store for us? Now remind yourselves to VOTE in 2012. Remove Obama and the Czars from office."

lol

So yeah... um, back on topic...

I wish there were more overpass walkways like the one showcased in the photo here in New York! Even if just in key locations.

Does that count as on topic?
