There are two workarounds that users can implement until the fix is released to prevent Siri from reading aloud notifications from the lock screen:
Turn off lock screen notifications for sensitive apps: Settings > Notifications, select an app, and toggle off Show on Lock Screen
Fully disable Siri whenever the iPhone is locked: Settings > Siri & Search > Allow Siri When LockedMacRumors will update this article as soon as the software update with a fix is released.

There is a third one: disable Siri all together.

You guys have this bug on iOS11 where the lock screen disappears after you say 'Hey Siri'? It not always the case, but when it happens, the clock, date and any notifications are gone, just the top row wit the battery and carrier is there.

The only way to fix it is to go to Settings -> Display -> View -> Zoomed and then Settings -> Display -> View -> Standard.

Or just fully restart it.

After some time I finally figured it out was the 'Hey Siri' command that caused it. Mostly because I don't use Siri that often...

I really hope iOS 12 is just iOS 11 without the ridiculous number of bugs.
I have trouble even with shuffling my music now, FFS. iOS 11 is absolutely retarded. I'd rather go back to iOS 10 and never update; it was good enough.

If siri is silent, is it reading aloud the root password?
Ooooooh!
To be serious, I think the root password on iOS is always "alpine" or "dottie," or at least it used to be.

How is it they go through so many betas yet ridiculous bugs like this go unnoticed?

How many security and privacy related bugs is it going to take before Apple wakes up and takes this crap seriously? At this point I'm not installing the next version of ANY Apple software for at least 10 months after it comes out.

How about instead of clickbaiting, you actually explain that anyone can simply disable siri from lockscreen to fix this problem.

Apple sure is taking their sweet time with 11.3 and the throttle-fix. Must be trying to figure out another way to obsolete devices. :/ :p

And no, I don’t need to compare it to anything else with Alexa or Google, Siri works exactly how I intend it to and the above comments from others are overboard.

The problem is ignorance is bliss. It's easy to say what you have works but when you don't know what you're missing out on, then you also don't recognize what a truly capable assistant is.

Don't get me wrong. I was with iOS and Android the whole way through, so I've used both assistants extensively.

With that said the sentiments about iOS11 are a bit overblown here.

I really hope this is able to still be used for your own voice. It should definitely be disabled if anyone activates Siri from the home button without it being unlocked or if it’s not the user’s voice. However, if I say Hey Siri Read my Notifications to my own device, I want it to know that it’s me and do that without me having to unlock it with my face or finger. For example, I do this in the morning when I wake up and my iPhone is on the iPhone charging cradle. I say Hey Siri Read My Notifications and she lets me know what I may have missed from international or east coast friends or colleagues or any pressing emails or news reports. I find this a feature, however I definitely see the security issue. Yet, Apple has these iPhones trained to our voices, so why can’t that tech be leveraged here for security?

Me too! Stability + lot’s of feature improvements to stay a relevant OS.

I wondering the same. Tim Cook needs to hire more programmers instead of bankers.

'Apple has confirmed it will fix Siri'

Is the article I was hoping to read.

Stop spending your time on these trivial issues and fix the crappy whole thing!

Got my dates wrong, as did you. Apple announced they were implementing monitoring software on December 28. 28 Dec - 28 Jan - 28 Feb would be three months. I missed it by six days.

https://www.macrumors.com/2017/12/28/apple-iphone-battery-performance-price-drop/

So now we're counting announcements as part of the beta cycle? If you're going to count that, you need to also count the internal pre-betas, which we don't know about. So we don't really have anything to compare against.

Thus, it only makes sense to compare actual released betas. And of those, we've had fewer than two months.
