(I already gave up changes to the fisher-price UI).

Exactly what people called the current UI style (Aqua) when it was announced. Clearly Apple was right about that decision back in 2001, and I have a feeling they'll be right again. People never change, always hostile to the unfamiliar, few people greet unfamiliarity with an open mind.

I've used iOS 7 on a daily iPhone for over a month now, and I fail to see how the UI is any less mature than the current one. Aqua was (for its time) also very colorful and playful. If anything, I feel it is more refined and beautiful, they picked colors that can be fully appreciated with todays retina displays. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder I assume, I just find it funny that half the people bitching about it will more than likely grow to love it and completely forget they ever disliked it. But just remember that History never lies. Aqua was just as divisive as iOS 7, people found the gloss and shadows distracting, they thought that very high resolution and highly detailed icon artwork was extremely distracting and took away from the purpose of an icon, among many other complaints. Now these same people are complaining about iOS 7 GOING AWAY from these same things.

Do you have to be on WiFi?

'Cause mine still says my software is up to date

I'd say so, try to refresh couple of times, it will eventually pop up.

Installing now, downloaded within 2 mins, hopefully it will be a step forward.

Well, to be fair, 1.0 aqua wasn't that great. It looked awesome at first, but after you used it for a while... The pinstripes were atrocious, and they went a bit overboard with the pseudo-3D and transparency. And we needn't mention brushed metal.

I expect we'll see a similar refinement to the iOS 7 look as we've seen with aqua over the years.

Amen. I remember running UNO religiously before Leopard to put everything on the same non-ugly page.

I've been using beta 3 on a iPhone 5 since release and it is very low on bugs.. Its very usable

Agreed. Its vastly better than the train wreck that was Beta 2.

Mavericks DP4 is also really good and has been my primary OS since release.

On the lockscreen instead of arrow they are using using a straight line

A green big call bar I now present in phone app under the keypad

I still think Apple would want to for feedback purposes, since the OS has changed so much visually. Of course you wouldn't need to.

Apple really doesn't care about that kind of feedback. This is a company that is notorious for not having any focus groups or committees. They're more concerned about bugs.

I think they do care about that kind of feedback for iOS 7 because the change is so huge. And if they don't, they should.
