Apple will release a (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band for the Apple Watch, and likely other new Sport Band colors, according to a retail source. At least one Apple Store has received inventory of the new bright red band ahead of Apple's "Hey Siri" media event in San Francisco today. Apple donates a portion of the proceeds from (PRODUCT)RED-branded items to the Global Fund to help the fight against HIV and AIDS in Africa.

Tech blogger Larry Greenberg shared a picture of the (PRODUCT)RED Sport Band box on Twitter a few hours ago. The band could look similar to the custom red Sport Band that Apple design chief Jonathan Ive gifted to former British professional rugby player Will Carling in April.
Last week, we corroborated a report that Apple will unveil new Sport Bands for Apple Watch at its September 9 media event. The additional colors beyond (PRODUCT)RED could include other shades of red, orange, yellow, blue and beige, as shown off at the Milan Design Week in April.

Apple is also expected to introduce new metal finishes for the Apple Watch Sport, possibly including lower-cost anodized rose and yellow gold versions. The new color will likely resemble the rose gold Apple Watch Edition and to-be-announced rose gold iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.

    Other Last-Minute Rumors

    - iPhone 6s could have always-on Hey Siri per AppleInsider
    - iPad Pro could cost $799/$899/$999 for 32GB/64GB/128GB per 9to5Mac
    - Apple TV software platform will be called tvOS per 9to5Mac

I just wish they would have the option for the black pin in more than just the black band.

A $10 price drop would go nicely with these too. :)

Great! The red actually fits very well to the space grey colouring of some of the devices. And I applaud that a portion of the proceeds go to HIV research. I will definitely get this band with my 2nd generation Apple watch :)

Yes, yes, yes! I was hoping we'd see a (PRODUCT)RED sport band. Hopefully it'll be available to buy after the keynote.

Why are all these rumors and stuff being linked too/first reported by other sites? Should I stop coming to macrumors for my info and just go to the other sites?

All 3 of those predictions are unsourced or from an unnamed source. MacRumors tends to be a bit more picky on the articles that originate here, from what I have seen.

I'm not saying that any of those rumors are false, but they are good educated guesses.

I like the look of it from that picture, would like another colour to go with my Apple Watch. The ony reason I said was because didn't they use to say Red was a more female colour

I have a red cover on my iPad, clear on my phone. Maybe I should consider one of these bands and a phone cover and make this a thing. I'm hoping for dark blue but red could be an option too.

    Shocker!!!!

    How do they do this?

I am starting to think Apple is no longer just a start-up company

Love project red but it's to late for me to pick it up. There's been other bands on the market that are just like these for a lot cheaper. Apple missed the boat on getting these out at launch or at least within a month of it. I don't even use standard bands anymore since getting a case for my watch. What else you got Apple? :)
