Mine arrived today. Very pleased with it. It should have shipped with this from day one in my opinion. It’s the perfect combination and distributes the weight evenly.

Good to hear, I may stop by the Apple Store and get one, or wait for Amazon to carry it.

Does it interfere with the speakers on the straps? That was the problem with the other popular strap.

Edit: I just found another strap that looks like the Belkin. It's made by Spigen and has mixed reviews: Main complaint is that it can't be adjusted tight enough for small heads.

Looks like it’s a few weeks out to order from Apple…

I ended up ordering the Spigen Strap, and it's been very comfortable. I would like to try the Belkin to compare the two. What I like of the Spigen is that their strap has a cushion. I seems that both straps use the same principle to provide support.

Yes - the current dev. kit is too large and heavy and too pricy for the _everyday Joe' - but that is not important for developing the content that will please people afterwards - Apple needs to start somewhere and with respect to immersion the mission is completed - at least for me

I use the single loop and it is comfortable enough for the battery life - would not wear it longer than 2 h anyway - why would I need to? It's a tool to do certain things - I don't use my coffee maker longer than it takes to do coffee as well

I participated in a survey Apple has sent to owners and comfort was my biggest topic

Followed by request for live content like in the demo reels from the NBA - but that takes time to get it doe right. Backmagic and Canon are doing custom make gear for creating content. Once these tools get available film makes and content creators will be able to generate much easier the content we all want and the wants content differs from person to person - e.g. I am a big fan of documentaries - in case I could to to places I'll never be able to do on my own I'd glady spend a fortune for being e.g. at the international space station - no way I could go there on my own - or standing on the moon - the immersive surrounding is just stunning

Apple has been working on it for roughly a decade and the first incarnation will be the worst we'll ever see - that's good news.

In the survey Apple asked me about my most important feature - my reply was visual quality. Current rumors predict a cheaper display and lower resolution design - this would be at any price point a no go for me.

Before I'd accept a lower fidelity I gladly take the higher weight for the time using it - it is btw. less demanding to wear the AVP compare to cruising 120 km/h with a motorbike and a helmet - let alone driving higher speeds.

Yes - the front heavy weight is less than ideal but it iss by no means prohibitive to use it. Sitting in a cinema in uncomfortable seats is more distracting for me.
why did you do this?

I'm skeptical based on the positioning of the headband, but I went ahead and ordered one based on the reviews and feedback so far.

We'll see.

How hard would it have been to just ship the headband that was demoed for journalists? Even offered it later on to early adopters as a request like the iPhone 4 bumpers?

My biggest problem with Apple currently is how stingy they've become. No power adapters. Let's ditch the stickers. What's next no power brick with your $2000+ MacBook Pro?

The Belkin head strap is a game changer for me. I just got mine two days ago and I am finally able to wear the solo knit band, whereas up until now I had been forced to use the dual loop band exclusively. While the dual loop band felt comfortable it always also felt sloppy loose, no matter how tightly I adjusted it. I never had a weight issue when using the dual loop band but the loose-feeling fit and the inability to fine-tune the fit easily while wearing the AVP were (minor) drawbacks.

Using the solo knit band with the Belkin head band gives me a better-feeling fit, while still remaining comfortable and the easier fine tuning using the adjustment knob is a definite plus . I haven't yet tried wearing the AVP with this setup for hours, as I have in the past with the dual loop band, but I think it will remain comfortable for as long as I care to wear the AVP.

Apple really should include this strap with the AVP. It might well alleviate some of the complaints about weight.

I'm sorry, but in MHO people wearing the AVP look ridiculous.
Who cares? I bought my AVP for the technologic innovation, not as a fashion accessory.

Jeez, seems I said that a decade ago about the original Apple Watch, too. Hmmm...

Without the inserts the glare issue practically disappears.
Unfortunately, some of us are myopic enough that using the AVP without inserts isn't an option. But, while the glare is a *minor* issue for me, it's far from a major limitation, especially when I am using the AVP for work--using the ultra wide Mac Virtual Display.

My head is quite small and the Belkin head strap is fully adjustable for my head size. I don't think this is an issue with the Belkin.

No interference with the speakers. The attachment for the head strap is way behind the speakers--it attaches where the battery attaches on the left - in fact to insert it you need to remove the battery, insert it, and then replace the battery (once and done, unless you want to remove the band for some reason)--and at essentially the same location on both sides as the Apple straps. Nowhere near the speakers.

I did get the Belkin strap. It’s very good. But now that the Resmed strap came out, I would like to know how good it is.
