Apple to Stream Live Video of 'iPad Mini' Media Event to Apple TV

Mannn, why do I have to have an exam at 2PM EST =( ... guess I'll just watch it afterwards 🙁 #FirstWorldProblems

So far it has shown up in BIG markets: USA, UK, Germany and Australia.

Can anyone from smaller countries say if they got the live stream as well? I'll check here in Denmark when I get back home in an hour.
 
I think it's more fun reading and refreshing live blogs. Not only do you get various spins on what is happening, but you can race 'em. 🙂
 
Wow.... Amazing! I confirm that it's on my Apple TV too. I'm in Hong Kong. The icon just showed up a few minutes ago.
 
Can't somebody sniff the update file while it updates? May require some skill if it is done over SSL (and it probablly is), but it's doable. I've done it before on streams with no proxy support, but I don't have an ATV.

Or if you have your thing jailbroken, maybe you can ssh into it, locate the live events "app", and either find the URL in some plist or settings file, or run strings on the binary and see if it is hardcoded in it.

Either way, I hope this is not an ATV exclusive, that would be stupid 🙁
 
Seen in Manila!

Just turned on my Apple TV here in Manila, Philippines... and the Apple Events icon is there!

So I guess it's not just for big markets!

USA
UK
Australia
Germany
Hong Kong
Philippines

I guess all countries will eventually have it.
 
Someone with an Apple TV, please put a camera in front of it and stream to bambuser so that us without ATV's can watch as well! 😀
 
Stupid decision. Most people are at school/work during that time and don't have access to an Apple TV and a real TV. Who are they streaming to, really?
 
It's showing up on my UK Apple TV, too. Maybe in the next version of the app they'll have figured out how to translate the show times into my local time...
