Several MacRumors readers have noted that Apple has added a new "Apple Events" icon to the Apple TV, with the company revealing that it will be streaming today's media event live.

It is unclear if the video stream will be available through other means such as on apple.com, but Apple will presumably be updating its site with more information with more details if the stream will be available through multiple channels.

Apple has offered live video streams of its events several times in the past, but has not done so in several years until today. The most recent event for which Apple provided a live video stream prior to today was its "Back to the Mac" event in October 2010.

It sure would have been nice to watch it live on my MacBook. It's okay, I'll just grab the keynote from iTunes later on.

MacRumors will be a very interesting place today.

We don't know yet that it won't be available on apple.com or someplace else.

A few people seem to be getting miffed that its only on AppleTV. Apple has a few hours to announce live streaming on the web. For all we know the AppleTV update might take some time to go live on all devices. We still have over 5 hours to go. Keep calm and stop carrying on.

What a well thought out rational comment... Why you felt the need to post it here is beyond me... :D

Most of the people who post in the comments sections troll. Especially on any thread about Apple.

Hmm... using that logic a lot of the posters here could be considered trolls...

ie. if I someone disagrees with my stance, they are a troll?

I have the original AppleTV. I wonder if the live stream will pop up in the Apple Keynotes section of Podcasts... Does anyone know? I might have to watch the UStream version linked in this thread. (Which works on your iphone - in case you can't watch on your AppleTV)

See ustream link in this thread but has a guy talking over it
