Agreed. If OLED means a price increase I will go without.
Of course it is a price increase. No different than going from a mechanical drive to an SSD with the same capacity (or fasten gen of SSDs to another).

An OLED with the same brightness and HDR capabilities (and better being OLED) has to cost more.

My eyes struggle with OLED, especially tandem. I've tried the iPad Pro with tandem twice and it had to go back both times.

I hope my MacBook Pro M1 Max and MacBook Air M3 last forever.

Please have no notch, please have no "Dynamic Island".
Apple has used their most persuasive dialogs to convince their faithful followers of the technical advantages and necessity the notch and now Dynamic Island. It’s an addiction the company isn't about to abandon anytime soon. And many of their followers have bought in completely.

An addiction to the styling aspect which makes their products instantly recognizable as made by Apple. Obsessed with brand placement in movies, television and the like, Apples marketing arm is extremely powerful and influential within the corporation.

The single most annoying aspect of my iPhone 16 Pro Max and 16" MacBook Pro M4 Max is the Dynamic Island and Notch respectively. As my wonderful 13” M1 MacBook Air ages out, I will miss the beautiful unadulterated notch-less display.

What exactly do you struggle with? OLED has far better response times, contrast, and saturation than other panel tech

OLED displays on both the devices will be great. The mini iPad could be costlier by $100 to $150 and the MacBook Pro will definitely be atleast $200 more. Will be good if the MacBook gets cellular connectivity. Waiting to see the devices.

I wonder how come is that oled screens on apple products have one of the worst pwm on the market, on par with samsung and google.
like why do they not put effort to improve this aspect that was critiqued for years.

Yes, I almost can't believe that people don't seem to be talking about them negatively anymore. If my M1 MacBook were to fail me the only portable Mac I could replace it with now is the Neo.

It’s true and fell for it hook, line and sinker. It’s a cool quick way to identify phones in the wild.

They do an unbelievably good job. We bought a lot of Apple gear this year to fill in the gaps.

Love the notch / Dynamic Island on my 15PM .

Get a neo.

Certainly potential to reimagine the iPad mini here. Pitched correctly you could imagine this replacing a phone for some people when paired with a Watch for example

Like if pro was cheap, it’s almost twice the price !!
It is, but it means those who want a 11” or 13” iPad can choose to either wait until OLED filters down in some from or upgrade to the Tandem OLED of the Pro. Those wanting a smaller screen don’t have that option. Further, the Air has had 2 refreshes since Mini was last updated, so it is the Mini’s turn next even by its less frequent upgrade schedule.

The Air exists to upsell people from the base iPad to it or from it to the Pro. Apple wants to make maximum profit, not provide value for money (see the cost of storage upgrades and forcing Pro users to buy 1TB+ if they want Nanotexture or 16GB RAM.)

If Apple brazenly gave us OLED iPad mini with 60 Hz display like nintendo did, then I will skip it and accuse their greed!

Looking at tandem makes my eyes burn and gives me eye pain and headaches. It has nothing to do with any of the listed benefits. I agree that it looks better but for some reason, my eyes can't handle it.
