Yup!Wait, so none of this will be available on the UW1?

you could also put it another way: watchOS 11, which I am sure is required for these, brings new features to existing AW models ...So Apple is basically upgrading my Apple Watch Ultra 2 to an Apple Watch Ultra 3 over the air?
Sweet. I'll take it! I've been wondering lately if I have sleep apnea.
So far upgrading to the Ultra 2 last year seems like one of the best upgrades I've ever done, lol. I'm most excited about the Action Button becoming more useful. Right now I only use it to start an exercise.
I have the original and see no need to upgrade for this...So Apple excluded the original Ultra just to force people to upgrade? Tim is such a greedy SOB.
Absolutely. The silent alarm that wakes just me up and not my wife saves our marriage every day at 5am.Do people actually wear a watch at night ?
What dumb negative comment. The UW1 does not have the S9 chip necessary to implement these features. So Apple excluded the original Ultra just to force people to upgrade? Tim is such a greedy SOB.
Are we are talking about using the speaker from the watch?!What dumb negative comment. The UW1 does not have the S9 chip necessary to implement these features.
It's on my series 7. But yes should also be apart of the weather appIt’s ridiculous that tides isn’t just apart of watchOS 10 and included in the weather app.
Finding out you have sleep apnea on an Apple Watch, yet still have to go in and get a test from a sleep specialist to later get a prescription for a CPAP, priceless. So Apple is basically upgrading my Apple Watch Ultra 2 to an Apple Watch Ultra 3 over the air?

I hope this will be available, I’m keeping UW1, for now.Wait, so none of this will be available on the UW1?
My S6 AW is gonna give up any time. An upgrade to Aw ultra2 or even S10 will be great update. It’s like why even bother upgrading to the S10?!
Battery life. And you don’t have to live in nature, a few hiking trips a month make it worth.I don't get the appeal of the Apple Watch Ultra. Are there really that many "athletes" / outdoor people? Like who the hell wants to be in "nature" more?
Then don’t get one.I don't get the appeal of the Apple Watch Ultra. Are there really that many "athletes" / outdoor people? Like who the hell wants to be in "nature" more?
Yes. The only time I don’t wear a watch is when I take a shower.Do people actually wear a watch at night ?
Why isn't MacRumors (or Apple) reporting this then? As reported, it does indeed sound outrageous. If it turns out that the Ultra 1 isn't getting features it's completely capable of, like sleep apnea detection, action button improvements, and speaker playback, then I'm done with Apple. The Ultra 1 isn't even two years old! They are available on Ultra 1.
I know this may come as a shock, but some folks like having good battery life and a titanium body.I don't get the appeal of the Apple Watch Ultra. Are there really that many "athletes" / outdoor people? Like who the hell wants to be in "nature" more?
The sleep apnea probably does depend on the more capable background acceleration sensor, so that one I can understand not coming to UW1Why isn't MacRumors (or Apple) reporting this then? Are we in for a wave of people blasting more tinny music in public? And probably some people who don't realize their watch started playing a podcast.Audio playback over the Watch speaker is fantastic. Been trying it out on my Ultra 2 and it works great for music and podcasts. Will be great to have in a pinch.
Possibly, though the recent watch models can all track respiration, including the series 7. Is tracking the intermittent lack thereof that much of a higher sensitivity requirement? The sleep apnea probably does depend on the more capable background acceleration sensor, so that one I can understand not coming to UW1
