What is this "Blockbuster" that you speak of?
I guess he/she's talking about Movie rental service shops that were active until 4/5 years ago
from Wikipedia
"Blockbuster LLC was an American-based provider of home movie and video game rental services through video rental shops, DVD-by-mail, streaming, video on demand, and cinema theater.Blockbuster became internationally known throughout the 1990s. At its peak in 2004, Blockbusteremployed 84,300 people ..."

I would use even more than 64 GB if all my games, including the old ones created before the 21st century, were available in the device, and videos/audios could be uploaded and stored there *.

* Unfortunately the only app that does this is VLC... which is a piece of s. compared to Infuse, that doesn't have this feature thanks to the unwillingness of its developer.

There are still blockbuster stores around. Hard to believe but true. There's a mom and pop no name video rental store not too far from me and it's still in business. Not sure how.
[doublepost=1511910198][/doublepost]Hell, my primarily device is the Nvidia Shield and the one I have is only 16gb. Been using it for 2 years. Every single day. Still haven't filled it up.

why? its been problem since i got it and neither Frontier, apple, onkyo, netflix of vizio can tell me why. 90% of the time i press play on nexflix the wheel just spins... every other streaming app works fine and my smart tv built in netflix works fine as it does on all other devices... just not on my 4k apple tv

Have you tried deleting the app and reinstalling it?

As I recall, the 64 GB were very hard to obtain at launch too. 32GB were readily available, and for only a $20 difference @ retail price, I think the 64GB is kind of a no brainer. I didn't get mine until the 2nd or 3rd week after launch.

This delay could just force more people to buy the 32Gig version then if they luck out of 64Gig availability in other stores.

Only the 'die-hards' will wait :D

Yes, with the upcoming 11.2 (should land before Xmas I guess) we get automatic HDR and refresh rate switching.
But not automatic resolution switching. Apple can't seem to do the obvious unless pushed.

Maybe this is just a way to hype up the device and make people think the Apple TV 64GB is in demand like the iPhone X, when in reality it is not.

Airplay is totally worth it for whatever Apple calls for the 32GB.

I know Apple is known for never doing what their customers want. It’s part of their charm. However I wonder about people like Johnny Ives or Tim Cook when they go home and fire up the latest Disney movie and they can’t watch it in 4K Dolby Vision/Atmos on their Apple TV and $30,000 audio system. Are they just laughing at the rest of us for not knowing to just buy 4K Blu-ray discs?

Not really related to the exact topic, but movies anywhere has resparked my interest in the ATV. It is about damn time all of my digital movies are available in itunes!

Keep telling yourself that. I hear this every year, about every iPhone. And every year when the numbers come out we see success.
This myth about companies artificially limiting production to generate “hype” is silly. It is never in a company’s best interests to NOT sell a device to a customer who wants to give them money. This holds as much for the Apple TV as any other product.
I will slightly concede that in cases when production falls behind demand, marketing departments will try and spin it as a positive (their job is to spin everything as a positive). But marketing doesn’t cause the lack of supply.

Yes, prepay 4 months of Directv Now and get a 32 GB 4k Apple TV. Seems like a no brainer for those of us that are fine with the 32k.

Not quite. Don't forget ATV temporarily downloads the iTunes film. It STILL does this with the 4K one too more the duration of the film. An iTunes 4K HEVC film file is 20GB for a 1hr 45min film. Don't forget, this time next year, the majority of iTunes films will probably be 4K DV/HDR. Just look how fast the 4k iTunes store is growing!!! And it's only been 8 weeks! Now add the OS, 4K screensavers & games and BANG you're over 32GB. I would ALWAYS recommend the 64GB one as it's ALWAYS better to have more storage space rather than not enough. And come on, £20/Euro/Dollars that's it!!! Get the best as you'll be keeping it 2 - 3 years+ until the next model is released.
As a fairly new Apple convert (9 years now), for the best value, always buy the highest non-upgradeable capacity Apple device. For my 27" Retina iMac, that was the highest CPU, (OK, I got the 3TB Fusion Drive vs. SSD one), and 8GB memory. iPhone X 256GB, iPad Pro 10.5" 512GB.

Having the max gives you an extra year or three on your Apple purchase.

A poor man pays twice.

Most likely this is due to the same issue that happened at launch. Since the 64GB is only $20 more, it just makes sense to get it over the 32GB Model. They really should drop the price of the 32GB version to keep the inventory balanced.

32K? lol I assume you mean 32GB?

Can’t use Youtube on it since it doesn’t support 4k or HDR. No Amazon. The lack of auto switching video modes is TEDIUS. So I leave it set to 24hz DV and rent movies on it. XB1x for all else.

Movies I want to own I buy on disc so I get the full Atmos sound and of course superior image.

Oh? This is why I think the 32gb model is plenty. ;)

Right now my Apple TV 4K is only useful for 2 things: the small # of iTunes movies (& TV shows) I've purchased (nice the bulk are in 4k though!) and AirPlay. Beyond that, I'm now finding myself using my LG Smart tv apps more to cover for Apple TV's deficiencies.

I'm still astounded that folks use it to play games with. I just don't get it. You're playing for the most part mobile games on a 4K tv. But I guess... to each their own.

LG does have a good suite of apps. I actually intentionally subscribe to HBO and showtime through Amazon so it is all in one place. I have found I find content easier with the ATV though. The TV app really is great.

Stop saying iPhone X is not in demand!! This type of comment is pathetic. Look at the facts before posting. IPhone X is in demand for people who can afford it or have strong purchasing power. The premium price prohibits people without purchasing power from being able to get and keep it permanently.

Same. I recently purchased an xbox 4k to see what I was missing and i'm astounded. xbox supports 4k Netflix and amazon.

I just jumped off a cliff with my pet dinosaur. Sigh..
I used to rent LaserDiscs at my "progressive" BlockBuster. It's now an NAPA store.

RedBox nuked them.
