I’m alerting all my non-Apple TV+ friends to this offer and advising them to watch “Shrinking” which is really an excellent show.
Interesting strategy. Get people hooked on a show over the free weekend. Wonder what it would do for subscription numbers.
disagree, January many people see that as an empty month with almost nothing planned. Perfect for watching some streaming content.Poor strategy on their part to make it after the holidays. I think this past weekend would’ve been better, lots of people were together with their families and more people would’ve taken advantage of it, which could lead to more sign-ups.
Totally agree... its "safe". Predictable, consensual, inoffensive and slightly sweetened.I tried really hard to like Apple TV+. I subscribed for over a year and watched over a dozen series, including all the usual suspects. I concluded that it's just not for me - the production values are high, but the writing and storytelling are consistently weak, bland and safe. I struggle to get through almost any show they put out. After cancelling about a year ago, I've now been given yet another free 3-month trial and honestly can't find anything worth watching - Shrinking, Silo, Bad Monkey - it's all just meh. Their original films, on the other hand, are truly awful. I wish Apple the best in making TV+ a mainstream streaming platform, as it seems that viewership has plateaued at a small niche, but I will not be one of those viewers. As a huge Apple fan and supporter, I can confidently say that their content just doesn't appeal to me at all.
Valid point here!Probably not much considering Apple already offers a 7 day free trial

(not to mention the free 3 month trials) and Apple TV+ subscriber numbers aren't that great relative to the other streaming service providers.

"Masters of the Air"..... fantastic ! If you're interested in history that is a great show to watch.
To each their own, but Silo and For All Man Kind are pretty awesome shows. Comedy isn’t my thing but I enjoyed the first season of shrinking and bad sisters. Some of the movies have been turds but I enjoyed the one with the deaf girl.I tried really hard to like Apple TV+. Apple has already done free trial at the beginning of this hobby. And they give free trial with any hardware purchase. In what way does this make Apple desperate ? They are offering a free trial. Most companies do from time to time. Its a great way to get new users. I believe you are the desperate one looking for attention to which I am giving you. Now go away.
Meh .. was passable at best ..
The first 4-5 episodes were mostly junk writing
Could not agree more with this. I struggle to stay awake through the shows. They’re all dark and dystopian and too many “someone wakes up to find their wholes lives changed” concepts. No. We are all once again going to the gym everyday and be better human creatures and eat our broccoli. No time for tv.disagree, January many people see that as an empty month with almost nothing planned. Perfect for watching some streaming content.
