How come everyone says they are given free trials? I did not get a free trial with my new M4 mini. When you look at the small print, it excludes those who have previously taken up a free trial offer.

And this weekend offer appears not to include the UK. Is it USA only?

I did one year with back-to-back 3 months promos from different countries. I don’t know why they worked.

If anybody is thinking about actually checking out, Apple TV+, I would like to suggest, watching for all mankind, see and severance. All super awesome shows.

I tried that. Mankind started off OK, but inevitably turned into a woke-fest and showcase for whining American teenagers. Had to give it up. Disney+ has just made the same mistake with its latest Star Wars offering. A few minutes in only to find some American school brat whining in the street. So depressing. I had to press the OFF button.

My Father who was a school teacher from 50’s to 80’s and could always tell when a family got their first television. Kids would come to school falling asleep in class. :p 📺😴

Time to make our "must see" lists for friends or family we tell about the freebie. "Yes, I know you don't want any more services, but trust me, you will love [title], and there's enough time to binge season one for free."

"No, you don't need to buy an Apple TV to watch it."
why do you want to do apples advertising work for free?

I took up the free offer for 3 months Apple TV with my phone purchase.
And News.

I must say so far the quality of offerings seems good. Not the quantity others have but Silo is great.
Looking forward to a few others.

Will I keep it after the offer expires? Well, maybe a month or two a year?

News keeping? Probably not. It's not getting me that much extra I dont already get elsewhere.

Poor strategy on their part to make it after the holidays. I think this past weekend would’ve been better, lots of people were together with their families and more people would’ve taken advantage of it, which could lead to more sign-ups.
Thats they point.

Many would NOT be together and likely still vacation thousands of miles away from home or hung over or wired to much to care!

The less that takes advantage the LEAST costly to some for nine watchers. Like me!! Itll be eat gym binge watch sjower repeat lol.

They'll have just enough to get hooked and sub right after.

Apple TV+ is set to be available to stream for free from Saturday, January 4 to Sunday, January 5, providing its full catalog with no subscription fee.

Following a series of teasers, Apple today confirmed the free weekend on social media, building anticipation for new releases early in 2025 such as the second season of "Severance." Simply open the Apple TV app to watch for free.

Apple has never done a free all-you-can-watch ‌Apple TV‌+ event before, but it does offer free trials for new subscribers and it provides the first episodes of some shows so that potential customers can get a preview before choosing to subscribe.

‌Apple TV‌+ is priced at $9.99 per month, and up to six members of a Family Sharing group are able to watch content at that price point. It is also available in the various Apple One subscription bundles, starting at $19.95 per month.

I can see how with the friends and family around there could be the possibility there. I'm wondering if they're also counting on many people being figuratively "hung over" from the holidays and wanting to stay in for a while.

Good to see this. Don't know how many will subscribe to TV+ because of this free weekend. Some of the shows are very good. Many might subscribe for a month or so to see their favourite shows before cancelling the subscription.

A lot of their shows have the feel of watching what could've been a 2-3 hour movie stretched out over ten episodes with lots of filler and very slow pacing. That said I think a lot of the streaming services do that, got to keep you subbed.

Yeah... well... I'm working in television production/broadcasting for more than 25 years now and I have to say that viewers kind of force content creators to stretch their stories. Every since the number of cable channels have grown since the 80ies, especially when we went digital in the late 90ies, viewers just wanted more episodes, more seasons with more "quality". It's really a challenge for writers and production companies to satisfy that addiction.

I'm still amazed how much high budget content was produced in 2024 alone for streaming services. And yet, there always will be viewers that keep on being bored. 🤷‍♂️

Many might subscribe for a month or so to see their favourite shows before cancelling the subscription.
I subscribe to one service at a time for one month, once a year, usually in winter. Of course it's easier to have such a system when one lives alone.

What you mean? I've been having TV+ and Arcade for years and never paid a cent. Unfortunately music codes stopped working a few months ago but nothing serious that a new account can't solve.
So Apple wasn't offering those to you for nothing. You were gaming Apple.
