Enough money yes lol

Not likely, for them it is about controlling the distribution as they own a number of anime production companies and studios including A-1 Pictures, Cloverworks, Aniplex, and Egg Firm. That isn't counting their joint ventures like Studio Bind.

The only way I see Sony selling Crunchyroll is if they divest entirely out of anime. And I don't want an American company controlling a major anime company.

And now we see why Crunchyroll is downgrading its subtitles technology to allow easier licensing to third parties with less-capable players. (TL;DR: It will become impractical to subtitle things like signs, text messages, and book pages loaded with text, because the more-portable lower-grade tech was never designed for that amount of flexibility.) There's been a huge backlash in the community.

For the record, I've been watching Crunchyroll stuff on AppleTV for a decade, and I've seen their app's tech evolve massively over the years (though it was a big downgrade when they made it like YouTube where it overlays half the screen with junk whenever you pause or resume).

I struggle so hard to find what I want to watch on Crunchyroll. Hopefully the Apple TV integration would work better

Has anyone successfully set this up yet?

I tried, but it keeps launching Crunchyroll. I have a previous subscription but I don't mind paying double for the integration/convenience, but it won't let me setup Crunchyroll within the AppleTV app without it launching the Crunhcyroll app.

Wake up then. Jellyfin is free.
After I added content to it. Still only partially helpful - not all content is available on traditional media discs for me to upload onto it, and I don’t want to resort to, well, altern-yarr-tive ways of obtaining content.

Are you awake? You don’t have to pay for this or any streaming service. You can simply not subscribe and find other things to do than watch movies or shows.
i am glad you know me well to quote me for what I already do, even if we have never met before.
