With so much hype surrounding the return of Severance, it can be easy to forget that another Apple TV+ hit show, Silo, is wrapping up its second season.

Silo follows the lives of 10,000 people living in an underground bunker to escape the seemingly toxic wasteland outside. The people are unaware of why the silo was built, and those who seek the truth face deadly consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, an engineer who attempts to unravel the mysteries surrounding the silo following a loved one's murder. The show is based on Hugh Howey's best-selling book series.

Apple says the season two finale of Silo is available to stream starting today, although eagle-eyed fans will know it was actually released at 9 p.m. Eastern Time last night. Severance's season two premiere was released at the exact same time.

Apple recently announced that Silo will be a four-season show, allowing for the complete story from Howey's book series to be acted out.

Severance, meanwhile, is a critically-acclaimed workplace thriller revolving around the mysterious company Lumon Industries. The company's employees cannot recall any memories about their personal lives while they are at work, and likewise they cannot remember anything about the workplace when they leave the office. The series has an ensemble cast that includes Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, and others.

In the second season, Apple says the employees "learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe."

Severance was created by Dan Erickson, and Ben Stiller serves as an executive producer.

Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year in the U.S., and the streaming service is also included in all Apple One subscription bundles.

The big day for me is not the premier but the finale of Severance. I don’t want to watch it dripped out in pieces.

I also really hope they don’t do what it seems all very successful shows are doing lately, and drag “Season 2” out over the next two years.

I am so into Silo and my free Apple TV+ trial just expired on Wed 😭

Gonna need to buy a month subscription once Severance season 2 is all out.

Silo S2, episodes 1,9, and 10 are the best. The jump of timeline make me check if i am still watching the same series…can’t wait for S3.

I still have to convince myself with Severance, stuck at S1EP3. Need to rewatch

Most of Silo season 2 disappointed me, but that finale was one of the best episodes yet. Sad we have to wait for S3!
Yea, they all kind of do that now, slow down till last few episodes. "From" suffered the same.
All in all, Silo is still a very good show but the slowdown stained season 2 a bit. Hopefully Severance won't take that route.

Wife and I are mildly interested in the next season of Severance, and will watch it, but we're excited about the season finale of Silo tonight! The ending of the last episode was quite the setup!
Really now? Have expectations of a storytelling / directing sunk that low now?

Silo is just mediocre, and why does the soundtrack of the entire series have a maximum of 5 notes?

Almost everything about Season 2 disappointed me, it was more of a ‘Before you can continue, please complete the sidequest and get the cat food, then run through the whole silo and feed the 5 cats. Oh dear, did you only find 4? Then you'll have to keep searching so you can continue with the main story.’

That's bad storytelling

This season of Silo has been very disappointing, and the season finale is no exception. It’s just constantly stringing you along with nothing happening and no payoff.

I tried watching Severance, but it is just so mind-numbingly boring.

As someone who has not read the books Silo Season two took a ton of time with nothing happening. Sort of disappointing. It's this new trend in Streaming TV that "if we got something we better keep it going". I imagine in the second book there was more going on?!

Severance did not need a second season. The first episode was kinda what to expect, spend some time to reestablish the status quo. Its to bad creators and studies these days dont have the balls to just move on into the other setting. You know like handmaidens tale brut forced the protagonist back into the same situation via the stupidest reasons you could come up with by the season finale. I hope this second season ends up more than just them sitting in the office until a cliffhanger hits. We already had that. Build on it instead of sleeping on it.
