Silo S2, episodes 1,9, and 10 are the best. The jump of timeline make me check if i am still watching the same series…can’t wait for S3.
I can't get that granular with my appreciation, but I do love the show. I also got the books for xmas, and am reading them concurrently (but not quite aligned in timeline) for maximum confusion. :p I haven't watched the season finale yet, but I am guessing there has to be a lot packed into it if it closes out Wool.

I still have to convince myself with Severance, stuck at S1EP3. Need to rewatch
Give it a shot. I remember when S1E1 first streamed, I found the first few episodes really slow. But IMHO season 1 accelerates over time towards one of the most effective cliffhangers ever. Very similar to Silo's first season. Based on the extras epilogue after Severance's S2E1, it sounds like the current season may do the same.

Silo is very entertaining. Haven't read the books. The acting is generally quite good and the suspense / dire circumstance is effective. I just wish the script writers were more creative. The language is excessively / unnecessarily course. It's tiresome when everyone uses one particular word in every sentence. Not everyone is offended by it (though I would prefer do without the extreme language), but at least be more creative with the language.

I’ve had real trouble getting in to season 2 of Silo, and I’ve completely lost interest in more Severance. In the future I may wait for the shows to end then binge them rather than watch them as they’re released.
Second season of Silo is lackluster. Nothing happens. Lots of boring politics and the character of Rebeca Ferguson falls flat. Not gonna watch the third season.

Perhaps you’re just not immersed in the world enough. In the future people use the words they want.

Silo season one was really good, season 2 has been so slow and every episode ended on some kind of dire cliffhanger. I am sure that the finale wont be any different except I will have to wait 2 years for the conclusion.

With so much hype surrounding the return of Severance, it can be easy to forget that another Apple TV+ hit show, Silo, is wrapping up its second season.

Silo follows the lives of 10,000 people living in an underground bunker to escape the seemingly toxic wasteland outside. The people are unaware of why the silo was built, and those who seek the truth face deadly consequences. Rebecca Ferguson stars as Juliette Nichols, an engineer who attempts to unravel the mysteries surrounding the silo following a loved one's murder. The show is based on Hugh Howey's best-selling book series.

Apple says the season two finale of Silo is available to stream starting today, although eagle-eyed fans will know it was actually released at 9 p.m. Eastern Time last night. Severance's season two premiere was released at the exact same time.

Apple recently announced that Silo will be a four-season show, allowing for the complete story from Howey's book series to be acted out.

Severance, meanwhile, is a critically-acclaimed workplace thriller revolving around the mysterious company Lumon Industries. The company's employees cannot recall any memories about their personal lives while they are at work, and likewise they cannot remember anything about the workplace when they leave the office. The series has an ensemble cast that includes Adam Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, and others.

In the second season, Apple says the employees "learn the dire consequences of trifling with the severance barrier, leading them further down a path of woe."

Severance was created by Dan Erickson, and Ben Stiller serves as an executive producer.

Apple TV+ costs $9.99 per month or $99 per year in the U.S., and the streaming service is also included in all Apple One subscription bundles.

I'm enjoying Silo more than Severance?

Both are good, but if I had to choose just one, Silo would be it.

Really glad that I was able to redeem two free months to watch S2 of Silo and catch up on Severance.

Looking forward to Silo S3 and S4.

A lot of members here have some pretty high standards. Love both of these programs & am looking forward to binging them tonight. Always something good on Apple TV.

[Severance] Give it a shot. I remember when S1E1 first streamed, I found the first few episodes really slow. But IMHO season 1 accelerates over time towards one of the most effective cliffhangers ever.
While that is true, I also increasingly couldn’t suspend my disbelief anymore the more of the world was revealed. As far as I’m concerned, it’s not salvageable.

Silo S2 was a complete trainwreck in terms of pacing. Who in their right mind thought it was a good idea to stretch (barely) 600 pages book into 20 hours of TV?

As someone who has not read the books Silo Season two took a ton of time with nothing happening. Sort of disappointing. It's this new trend in Streaming TV that "if we got something we better keep it going". I imagine in the second book there was more going on?!

Severance did not need a second season. The first episode was kinda what to expect, spend some time to reestablish the status quo. Its to bad creators and studies these days dont have the balls to just move on into the other setting. You know like handmaidens tale brut forced the protagonist back into the same situation via the stupidest reasons you could come up with by the season finale. I hope this second season ends up more than just them sitting in the office until a cliffhanger hits. We already had that. Build on it instead of sleeping on it.

Handmaid's Tale was the absolute worst for completely losing the plot in order to keep its star alive and the series going. We used to joke that she became a kind of super slave who just couldn't die no matter who she ticked off and how many rules she broke, in a world where everyone else was completely disposable.

This season of Silo has been very disappointing, and the season finale is no exception. It’s just constantly stringing you along with nothing happening and no payoff.

I tried watching Severance, but it is just so mind-numbingly boring.
The Silo story is not episodic, so of course it strings you along without a "payoff", because the story continues two more seasons.

The story itself may not be, but when you take a story/book/series and turn it into an episodic TV show, the writers should be able to structure it in a way suitable for viewing in that medium. So, either the writers aren’t good at their job, or the story is just not suitable for TV.

Apple TV+ is my favorite streaming service. Series are great and they are all in Dolby Vision and Atmos. On an OLED TV, they are great!! Cant' wait to watch Severance 2 as well as Foundation 3, Constellation 2 and Prize Next Door 3!

Apparently people are upset with season 2 of Silo because it didn't have enough car chases and shootouts in it. Sorry folks, it's not that kind of series. I liked it quite a lot.
Silo season 2 is really sloooooow. Don't get me wrong, I like the series but, in my opinion of course, 80% of the second season could have been cut. It dragged things for nothing. Maybe they should have released Silo as trilogy movies.

I really liked Silo, the season 2 though you could skip or watch at 2-3x for a really long time and miss nothing, in fact just go straight to last 2 episodes after the first.
Agreed! She wasted her time and ours in this second silo.

I’m glad I’m not alone in thinking silo season 2 wasn’t very good. I turned it off halfway into episode 3… it’s a shame as I loved season 1. I think the pace is way too slow for S2.

I’ve never watched severance as I never got into the trailer

S2 was great, interesting cliff hanger for the finale. Did a lot of back and forth this seasons compared to S1. Excited for Severance, that show is amazing

Both great shows. Saw both episodes. Great ending to Silo and a very good first episode of Severance. Took a long time for the new season of Severance. Hopefully if it is renewed, the wait will not be so long.

After enjoying the severance episode just want to throw this out there…

If not for the work of our dearly departed Mr David lynch no such show would even exist

He was the backbone of all good and interesting modern film and television as was Mr Bowie of all good and interesting modern music

…..

btw. For those that think a show like severance is “slow” or “boring”

You merely lack imagination. art is not meant to hit like crack. If you need to be spoon fed then it’s probably not for you

I really enjoyed both season 1 and 2 of Silo. I had the advantage of starting to watch season 1 , when Apple was already half way through season 2. Perhaps the best drama Apple have made so far. For those that have read the books which books do season 1 and 2 cover ? Just the first book, wool ? As I can’t wait 2 years to find out what happens after the season 2 Finale.

Someone explain the allure of Silo to me. After s2e2 I gave up. It’s basically a show about nothing - fake drama and suspense around the police / IT department ensuring people don’t leave the silo for their own good. The outside is literally a hellscape and mass panic can destroy the entire silos population. Bernard is looking to keep people safe. So… what are people fighting for? Seems like a necessary situation.
