The Silo story is not episodic, so of course it strings you along without a "payoff", because the story continues two more seasons.
It was just nothing happening and dragging that out. I have not read the book but I highly doubt the second book was just about hiding a suit for Juliet, out main protagonist. “Hey, here’s reasons why story can’t continue, I hope you like side quest”.

Someone explain the allure of Silo to me. After s2e2 I gave up. It’s basically a show about nothing - fake drama and suspense around the police / IT department ensuring people don’t leave the silo for their own good. The outside is literally a hellscape and mass panic can destroy the entire silos population. Bernard is looking to keep people safe. So… what are people fighting for? Seems like a necessary situation.

I think the first season was great. Lots of progress and new revelations.
The premise in itself is ok I think. People will rise up, it’s just a bit wonky that the person trying to keep everyone save has to be portrayed as a deceptive bad guy when he seemingly has no reason to. People will rise up if they feel that the power miss-treads them, it just is not shown very well in season two. The allure of season one was what’s going on here, why is everyone in a silo, why is going out bad. The allure of season two kinda was supposed to be saving everyone from killing the self’s but than Juliet just hung out and had a coffee after she finally was able to return and do something. I guess now she allegedly got burned to a crisp wich of cause she is not because we cannot change the status quo to much. Now for season three you got the secret of evil door voice telling some guy he can’t tell this to anyone because dunno we weren’t told and I am sure we won’t find out till the cliffhanger of season three because fu or something. 😀
