Yes, it's time to give us what we really want which is the AppleTV Stream app so we can ditch all the expensive monthly charges for multiple TV boxes. It's already ridiculous I pay over $20 in "fees". In general, I feel like "streaming" services are headed to cable prices. I had to ditch Hulu+Live TV because it was getting over $90/month.
You may not be aware, but in the "fine print" concerning Xfinity Stream, they point out that it is a "beta" product and that while free now, it may not always stay so. Just because we might be able to cancel an Xfinity Box, don't assume the "Stream" will always be a free add-on to ATV or ROKU. And, IMHO, the Stream interface is not nearly as user friendly as the Comcast interface.

In the meanwhile Comcast doesn't provide a Xfinity Stream App to dump their set-top-boxes for the Apple TV. Some TVs brands are offered that. Also Charter Spectrum offers their own app that works on a Apple TV 4K as a comparison
Un intended consequences? Could I stream another cable system on my Comcast Internet? That would be nice.

Same… is Apple really so stupid, not to leverage for their own hardware customers?

I have an Apple TV, but it largely sits unused, compared to my Roku Ultra in HDMI1. Really has been a complete waste of $$. Gets clearer and clearer that Apple just doesn't care anymore; it is all about the money with this Exec team.
What are you talking about? the Xfiniy app is up to comcast and it was already said it is coming, last time i asked comcast they said mid year

That would be very wishful, I have a iPad setup with numerous bookmarked URLs for entering codes to enable Comcast customer verification. Its a PITA to always be entering codes on more then one ATV4k over and over. How about Apple provide a alternative solution for its user community?
Apple did provide a solution, it’s called single sign on, but Comcast doesn’t support it.

I don't pay for the 4k on YouTube TV as there isn't really enough of the channels that support it and I mostly have it for shows my wife likes to watch. As soon as I can find a way to drop it, I definitely will. I was speaking more generally about dealing with Telecoms for Cable and all the extra fees they charge.

EDIT - One of my favorite things about YouTube TV is the is no cap on how much you can DVR. After a brief search, looks like FuboTV is the only other live TV services that offer 4k, and it's still pretty limiited. So I guess at least YTTV offers 4k as an option?
DirecTV stream has 4K as well as many traditional cable/satellite providers. YTTV is the only one that charges extra.

From my recollection of Comcast that I had until last year, you had to pay a fee for HD, so I'm a little doubtful that other traditional cable/satellite providers don't charge a fee for it. And looking at some articles about DirecTV Stream, either DirecTV Stream doesn't have 4K, or it has 2 channels that have 4K and 1 that was 4K for half the day, I'm a little unsure. Going back to DVR, DirecTV Stream only offers 20 hours, while YTTV is unlimited. No service is perfect, we just have to find the one that best meets our needs/wants.

Comcast said the same thing LAST year. How many years does it take to provide on Apple TV what they’ve done on Roku? It should be an embarrassment to Apple, if the development requires so much extra time.
Also, Comcast was SUPPOSED to be a Day 1 “Sign in” TV Provider… where’s that at in how many years?

When Apple doesn’t even try, obviously, to use its leverage to improve the experience for its Apple TV customers while negotiating these deals with the likes of Comcast, it’s pretty clear what’s important to them: the eyeballs in Apple TV+. They’re forgoing existing customers (of Apple TV’s, arguably overpriced hardware) for a HOPE of gaining others (for their streaming service).

They didn't say the same thing last year, they said last year they made a deal that the Stream app is comig to the Apple tv this year. It is up to Comcast when to actually release the app.
