"Platonic" is a 10-episode, half-hour comedy series in which Byrne and Rogen will play childhood friends who reconnect as adults, according to Apple:
A pair of former best friends who met in their youth (played by Byrne and Rogen) reconnect as adults and try to mend the rift that led to their falling out. As their friendship becomes more consuming, it destabilizes their lives and causes them to reevaluate their choices.
The series reunites Byrne and Rogen with director Nick Stoller following their collaboration on the "Neighbors" comedy films back in 2014-2016. Byrne, Rogen, and Conor Welch will serve as executive producers on the series.

A release date has yet to be announced.

i must be missing something because i can’t ever actually find free stuff to watch on apple tv, give me the simplicity of netflix and amazon prime every time, it’s a good job these announcements of new shows never actually have anything that would interest me.

would love to know how many people who have a paying sub to this service would have done so if it was run by any other company

Used to love him, but then he tweeted a lot during the pandemic.
Feel the same way. I used to view him as an affable everyman type of person, but now I honestly can't stand him. It's not that I disagree with his opinion, just that the level of hateful snark and arrogance became so off-putting that I can't look at him the same anymore. I feel that way about a lot of celebrities now, actually. The more they tweeted about "being in this together," the more it became clear they lived in a completely different reality than the rest of us and I can't take them seriously anymore.

Blah. Maybe it is just me but nothing on Apple TV+ is really looking good to me. I'm on a year free trial and the only thing I watched was the Tom Hanks movie, which didn't do much for me.
My free year is almost up and I have yet to watch any Apple TV+ programming. I would check out the Foundation show if it comes out before my trial is up, but that’s the only thing that’s piqued my interest.

Yeah when they were tweeting sad faces while sitting in their multimillion dollar mansions with 24/7 waitstaff and complaining how it felt like prison...

I don't understand why people have to make it known to everyone else that they haven't wanted anything on Apple TV+ every time there is an article about Apple TV+. It's like posting in every article that mentions iPad and comment that I don't have one.

Also, how do you know you don't like anything on Apple TV+if you haven't watched anything on it?

Yeah, I have definitely soured on Rogen as well. But, given Apple’s incredible track record with TV+, I will give this a shot. Apple’s comedies have been sublime and I’m confident they are doing a lot of quality control checks to make sure new pickups continue that strong level of quality.

How have you not seen Servant, Ted Lasso, Morning Show, Defending Jacob, and Mythic Quest yet? Wow, you are seriously missing out on the best TV of the year!

Check out Ted Lasso, Morning Show, Servant, For All Mankind, and Defending Jacob. All are absolutely top top notch.

Indeed.

I thought these two have done a similar movie about being platonic and accidentally ended up dating and having a kid. If this is anything close to that or even remotely - waste of dollars.

Hey Apple ... seeing a bad pattern of influence in the choice of your roles and actors for movies here.

I thought Servant was really good.creepy premise and the episodes are short.
