I honestly can't understand why anyone would struggle with multiple remotes as many of you suggest. You know the TV remote turns the TV on (CEC disabled on all products BTW) and the PVR remotes turn the PVR on etc. etc. The only thing you have to remember is which HDMI input is for which devices. Once you can remember that then controlling the individual devices is child's play.

Incidentally QuarterSwede and Uofmtiger neither of you have said which Harmony models you are using.
I did mention it and it is the 880. A receiver and multiple components is the reason. Most receiver remotes don't have an Appletv and Roku button ( as two examples), so you also have to remember that the CD button is for Appletv and the TV button is for Roku ( as two common examples).

If you don't have much in your setup, you can get by with a couple remotes. However, 7 remotes would be more than enough to get me to buy a universal.

Apple ranked behind the competition for something? That's weird. I would have never guessed.
Get used to.it my friend, design, screen, video recording, battery,, they trail in all of these categories in the smartphone world as well. But you already knew this, you were. Just trying to be cute..

Clearly I wasn't having any false modesty or trying "To be Cute" as you put it. What do I need to get use to? I wasn't complaining, was I? I was clearly utilizing sarcasm in my previous statement, being we all KNOW Apple is behind in some respects in innovation.

I don't think they trail in every category you listed. I do believe some hardware aspects are antiquated, which will soon be obsolete. I was referring to the iPhone 6 line up and how it is due for a change, being this will be the third year with the same chassis. I am a huge supporter of Apple and I know they will rebound, because they always have tricks up their sleeves per say.

Lastly, please don't make sophomoric statements referencing me as your "My Friend." It only cheapens the conversation and makes you look silly.

That is part of the problem. It's falling behind Android in software features, and people complain about the physical form factor. It does not need to be thinner, hard enough to hold already. It could be made a bit smaller with a thinner bezel. But software feature changes is what is most needed. Spotlight is a joke. I installed Google Now, and placed the icon where my thumb would naturally fall to swipe right for spotlight. I use that instead of Spotlight because it is so much more useful.

Well you know what, if being pally and courteous to someone makes you look silly, I can live with that.

I don't care for 4K but I do care for 23.976fps playback, and ATV can't output it... at ANY resolution.

So please Apple, fix this first.

Do you mean the one that comes with the Hub? It's hundreds of pounds  to replace remotes that I already own and which do what they say on the tin. :) Having tried one previously I just can't see the point.
Different use cases I'd imagine. For me, I can turn the system down in the morning from bed when my kids have it too loud and I can control my outdoor speakers from outdoors.

I just bought the Amazon Fire TV and Fire Stick and they're replacing my ATV3 and ATV4. The main reasons for me were that I just couldn't get used the ATV4 UI and don't like the Siri Remote. Also, I can't get Spotify on it natively, nor can I get Amazon Prime. Also, the ATV4 can't do 4K and I'm planning on purchasing a 4K TV sometime this year too.

Forget all that, I'm returning the Fire TV after I bought a Roku 4 this afternoon. The Roku is great with a beautiful UI and much more polish than the Fire TV.

Tried a friend's ATV4 and walked away completely unimpressed. Sticking with my $35 chromecast for now.

Vudu already CONFIRMED that Apple won't allow it

they are a streaming service, not a hardware company, why on earth would they not want it on Apple TV when it's on every other device that allows it?

it's just Apple pushing iTunes movies

There are other streaming apps with large following...seems more likely to be a different issue
