Apple TV+ saw its most-watched weekend since Apple TV+ launched, according to information company insiders shared with Variety. With the release of Justin Timberlake movie "Palmer" on Friday, Apple TV+ saw a 33 percent increase over average viewer numbers.

New seasons of M. Night Shyamalan show "Servant" contributed, as did "Dickinson" based on the life of American poet Emily Dickinson and recently released Israeli show "Losing Alice."

"Palmer" is described a story of "redemption, acceptance, and love," and so far, it has a 75 percent positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
After 12 years in prison, former high school football star Eddie Palmer returns home to put his life back together-and forms an unlikely bond with Sam, an outcast boy from a troubled home. But Eddie's past threatens to ruin his new life and family.
Along with Justin Timberlake, "Palmer" stars Juno Temple, Alisha Wainwright, June Squibb, and newcomer Ryder Allen. The screenplay was written by Cheryl Guerriero, and it is directed by actor Fisher Stevens.

Apple over the weekend spent $25 million to purchase another new movie, "CODA." The film stars actress Emilia Jones as Ruby, the only hearing individual in her deaf family. As her high school years come to an end, Ruby is torn between staying at home to help family or heading off to college to pursue her dreams.

Apple TV+ still has a lot of free viewers, as Apple just recently announced plans to extend all ‌Apple TV+‌ free trials until July 2021, giving people more time to watch the available original content before making a decision on whether to subscribe. ‌Apple TV+‌ has been available for free since November 2019 for those who purchased an eligible Apple device in September 2019 or later.

Without the free trial, ‌Apple TV+‌ is priced at $4.99 per month or $49.99 per year, but Apple is currently crediting paid subscribers as well. ‌Apple TV+‌ is available on iPhone, iPad, Macs, Apple TV, consoles, and other set-top boxes, as well as smart TVs from brands like Samsung, Sony, and LG.

AppleTV+ either needed a breakout hit that attracts the masses like Disney+ did with Mandalorean — Baby Yoda became an instant viral sensation— or it needs a bunch of hidden gems that begin to build up the reputation of Apple’s service through word of mouth.

Ted Lasso came close to fitting the role of the first scenario but didn’t quite get there. Instead, all these great shows and movies are turning people‘s attention to AppleTV+, gradually increasing its viewership. I finally got around to watching the Morning Show and came away surprised and impressed. I’m no fan of Jennifer Anniston so I held off on this show. I’m glad I saved it for last. Nice way to bookend watching Apple TV+’s original slate of shows that I started with See.

Between second seasons of For All Mankind, Ted Lasso and See and new shows like Foundation Series, I’m definitely keeping my subscription going.

Why does apple pick a bunch of boring genres?

Where is the Thriller, Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi?

Where is Foundation?
For sure is not a movie with a tones of guns fight and punch on your face!
I think is a good movie to educate younger ( also older ) people on the differences that the sexuality is.

I think Apple have an another point of view to show at the start, personally what I saw was good, a bit slow on all the shows they can make the same story with 5 less episodes, but still good ambiance

And comedy!

Amazon paid $125 million for "Coming 2 America"

I bet that's gonna have HUGE viewership since many people already have Prime and it's an Eddie Murphy movie. I know I'd rather watch a comedy instead of a drama.

Even if it's terrible... Amazon will still brag about viewers.

Justin vs Akeem... fight!

:)

You can watch with your kids it’s a good movie to make them learn a bit more on the way people who are not straight grown up.

You absolutely cannot watch it with your kids, unless your kids are mature enough. It’s rated R, which might not matter to some people with kids. With mine it does.
