Breaking an “average” viewership Apple TV+ is nothing to write home about. Call me when Apple TV+ isn’t scolding those that disagree with Apple’s propaganda.

What’s propaganda about Apples offerings?

Somewhat related. I finally got around to watching Ted Lasso. It is hilarious and excellent writing. Apple kills it with comedies.

Deserved. It was a great movie. The service after a year is still suffering from a lack of new (or catalog) content, which explains why Apple keeps extending the free trial for everyone.

By “feminine”, you mean intelligent? I love action movies too but there are so many low budget and high budget ones to choose. Why look to Apple for that kind of stuff when you can just mindlessly stream Netflix movies like that all day long?
No, by feminine I actually mean less intelligent.

Look at the great shows like Narcos, Expanse, Better Call Saul/Breaking Bad, Raised by Wolves, Chernobyl. All intelligent with suspense, action.

Apple seems more concerned with emotional dramas/thrillers, female directors, and alot of current-day family home based settings. Which is boring as hell in my opinion.

Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed their dramas like Saving Jacob and Good Morning America. But these are just vanilla dramas that are good, not great.

Apple could build something truly great if it wasn’t so afraid of veering from political correctness, building large sets, and spending money.

I think the movie is worth watching for the kid, and that’s literally the only reason. It doesn’t teach anyone anything because it just goes from JT being angry with how the kid acts, to being ok with it.... not much going on with that.

I’m more amazed that not one person has mentioned the major flaws with the movie and how it’s almost the literal definition of white privilege. It’s a story about a felon who gets every major break available, while continuing to break laws and make the wrong decision, then gets rewarded over and over again. It’s insane really.
I mean, black and white people break laws and get away with it all the time. I think your reality is warped if you think this movie is about privledge.

What isn’t about privilege in this movie though?

*This part has spoilers*
This is basically the entire story, guy gets out of prison, then somehow lands a low key great job at a school district with all the benefits, even during the interview they question it then basically say “he seems like a nice guy” lol, guy continues to drink and go out, drinking and driving since his vehicle is always home for work the next day(you can disregard this part since it’s speculation sort of), friend almost fights guys supervisor at the bar, guy threatens to break a little kids arm, guy beats up person inside a bar(in front of a cop!!! Then threatens that same cop!!!) then the movie peaks with him kidnapping the child temporarily and it all ends with him getting the educated and stable girl while also getting the keys to the school, hinting that he’s there for good.

You don’t see any type of issue or privilege with any one of those things at all?

You can literally watch the wire and see the same thing happening with black people and black cops.

You think those are the same lol? It seems like it is your reality that is warped to not see any difference in those two shows and consider it all the same thing happening to everyone.

I missed the episode of The Wire when the drug dealer gets a good job after prison because “he looks nice” and continues to make every bad decision and still be rewarded and falling upwards in life.

Yeah, there has never been a drug dealer who has failed upwards before. Hmmm. Name any rapper.

Because all rappers are drug dealers? Clearly you don’t see any issue with the movie or anything at all when you say things like that lol, plus your “feminine equals less intelligent” post from above. So I’ll be moving along now.

And all white people are privledged based off a MOVIE with Justin Timberlake?

Apple never buys existing franchises and IP without changing it a lot to suit their own messaging or their customers’ needs. That takes time so they won’t be buying some big franchises like a Marvel or Harry Potter. They will be developing their own content that makes its mark. It’s just going to take a few years for them to reach a large scale production of a hugely popular franchise. In the meantime, it’s great to have choices from so many other streaming networks too.

Good point, at the end of the day who cares if Apple “wins”. Us users will still get the content regardless of the platform

Really brilliant strategy by Apple to buy up buzzworthy movies for the service. That attracts eyeballs and leads viewers to check out the TV shows. The TV shows are near-universally friggin off the charts bangers and are of the best TV of 2020. This is good.

More big tentpole movie releases monthly to draw eyes to the + second seasons and new series of Apple's prestige TV = winning strategy.

Wow...saw all but 'Saul' and all ARE excellent ! RBWs was definitely something 'new'....

You absolutely cannot watch it with your kids, unless your kids are mature enough. It’s rated R, which might not matter to some people with kids. With mine it does.
He have more violence in a cartoon then in this movie!

I just watched this movie - what a breathtakingly beautiful movie. Really really emotional and way better than the trailer makes it seem. Also, way less preachy than at first glance, and the socio-political hotspot issues are just part of the backdrop of the movie, and just part of the human elements and drama; it's not preachy thankfully.
