Apple TV+ has turned into my favorite streaming service - I too am one of those people who only has a few hours a week to watch TV or movies. When I watch it has to be the best bang for my time. And Apple's shows have so far exceeded that standard for me.

Same here, I like all of the content I have already watched. Most probably I will cancel Disney+ and keep AppleTV+, Netflix and Amazon prime. Amazon mainly because of the shipping benefits, not so much for streaming. And Im am seriously considering to cancel my cable TV provider, I have not seen anything on "conventional" TV for more than 6 month at least.
I ditched cable when I moved from my apartment (cable included in the maintenance) to a house.
I installed a good HDTV Antenna in the attic, connected it to a signal amplifier and oriented it to where I could get the most channels. That's a lot of channels already (about 60).
Plus, there are tons of internet channels with Xumo, Tubi, SamsungTV, IMDB, CW, Peacock, etc....
And I have Amazon Prime Video included with Amazon Prime Membership.
And Apple TV+ for free until July.

I don't have enough time to watch TV.
But I will most likely renew Apple TV+, it's only $50.00 when paid yearly (about $ 4.17 /month).

I’ve been watching some of them and did like See, Ted Lasso, Tehran and the morning show. Excited for foundation but I feel like I spend way more time on Netflix then AppleTV. I know it doesn’t have to be 1 or the other but for $60 a year I am not sure. I might let it expire and if Apple puts out more and more content maybe I come back.

I love the originals but it would be great if they did add some back catalogue like HBO. So originals plus some classics

I cancelled Disney+ and they haven't done anything that made me regret that decision. I mean yeah the Mandelorian was good and I'm kind'a interested in Moon Knight but I'm burnt out on the MCU and even if I wasn't phase four looks very underwhelming. Disney also has effectively ruined Star Wars for me and most of their TV announcements just looks like they really haven't learned anything.... like make more Star Wars things like the Mandelorian. Nah, I've got a limited budget and limited time for shows and Netflix, Amazon and AppleTV+ has enough awesome shows to keep me happy.

September is going to be LIT!!! OMG! I can't wait!! Apple is killing it with this upcoming slate!!

Cautiously optimistic. Hopefully they aren't programmed in a flavor that appeals foremost to, what I'll call, critics circles (as ATV+ seems to too often do). TBD...

Foundation will feature a band of exiles who seek to save the galaxy.

so…not following the books then? I mean there is one crazy lady who plays a pivotal role…I guess she is sort of an exile.

Sports. only reason I still have cable TV.

my cable TV Package comes with all the logins for all the local sports streaming services as well. So when I tried seeing what NHL, MLB, Sportsnet, TSN all would cost me? 2x that of my cable package that includes them.

however for me, it's Apple+ that'll be cancelled when the free year is over. I've watched 1 thing and didn't really enjoy it. I find Apple's own stuff is... pretentious, and tries too hard to be "arty". like they're main goal isn't entertaining content, but winning awards and accolades in the industry.

Disney+ gets the most watch in my household. Star Wars, MCU, National Geographic, STARZ all have content that everyone in my family is regularly watching. It's taken over Netflix as the regular streaming service (I might even cancel netflix)
Starz comes with Disney+. Hmmm maybe I will need to get it 2 months out of the year instead of one.

Yup, can’t wait, what a treat foundation will be 😎😎😎😎👍👍👍

Of course it won’t that’s not “sexy” enough especially in the age of competing between nearly a dozen all you can streaming buffets. There was only a slight chance for a faithful adaptation in the 50s and 60s when you could get away with characters just sitting around talking in a sci-fi setting and of course the anthology setup where everything unfolds over hundreds of years because that means replacing the cast constantly despite it being a unique narrative hook that would make it stand out, people don’t want that they want Games of Thrones in space whatever that means.

Good to see Apple TV is dishing out the competition! I've got a trio of them, so won't bother with anything else until I'm "sufficiently finished" with them.

Seems like everything remotely interesting will be pushed to fall. Just in time for all those 1 year free subscriptions to end!
or you can say the opposite, that the free period was extended to compensate for the delay of these big releases (due to COVID).

Guys, will you further extend your subscription due to these series? I won’t. sorry, Apple.
I’ve decided to make a 2 months break from subscription. Than I’ll be back for a while until I am done with all the content I like to watch than… short time “divorce “ again

Worried about faithfulness to the books for "Foundation". Just checked - the person meeting Seldon (Gaal Dornick in the book) was male. So of course it had to be changed to a non-white female to check off the political correctness box.

They had it going for them that the race of most characters could not be determined from the text; they didn't need to change genders too. Granted there were less prominent females than males in the series, there were some.
