As a 33 year old male. None of apple’s programs interest me. I tried watching see and for all mankind. They’re not bad shows, but just couldn’t connect with any of them. I did like boys state, though.

Now HBO on the other hand...

I'm a 33 year old male too and couldn't disagree more. I've found almost every Apple TV show excellent and right up my alley.

This is to counter the Netflix method of canceling shows early. Apple is, in effect, reassuring customers that it's worth it for them to "buy into" their shows, and the creatives/creators will be allowed to create their vision uninterrupted. It's a major breath of fresh air.
Exactly. I really like the show Away on Netflix and was bummed they canceled at 1 season. Netflix has tons of season 1 shows.

LOVED the first season, one of my favourite shows from 2019, and assuming the second season has a similar tone and production quality I'm sure season three will at least be watchable even if it doesn't live up to the first season (as with most shows).

Good to see Apple renewing early. Hopefully the second season of See will begin production soon and we get another season of that too.

Those two shows are the only ones I've enjoyed so far (the only other shows I've checked out being The Morning Show and Ted Lasso).

Each to their own. I'm a 34 year old guy and loved Servant and See - two of my favourite shows from 2019. Also love a lot of HBO stuff too though - most recently The Undoing and Succession but also enjoyed The Night Of, Westworld, GoT etc.

Ted Lasso and Raven's Banquet are both hilarious. Those are the two series I have watched so far.

I can't stand M. Night 'Schmuck-maylan'. Crappy, predictable, not-scary movies that always lack intelligent writing and depth. I won't be watching "The Servant." Also: how many movies about wives mourning dead children and replacing them with horrible dolls do we need? I think this is at least the 3rd or 4th in recent years.

I'm looking forward to "Foundation," and I'll probably watch "For All Mankind," because I really like some of the actors, as well as period-pieces (60's - 80's).

"watched by many" !== "popular with"

This show falls into the trap of a lot of puzzle box TV in that it withholds more than it answers, and by the end you feel like nothing's happened and move on to better shows.
I remember getting to the bitter end of Lost with the weird ending and a thousand unanswered questions, then wondering why I had ever bothered. Never again.

I think lost had a plan, but because so many people figured it out they started having to trick people into thinking they didn’t. Which backfired.

Although I swear that Lost was a miniseries before it became a show, though I’ve never seen it show up anywhere. I remember a scene where someone pays $20 for a coke and when the person who got paid starts bragging about it the Jack character bluntly asks where they plan to spend it.

yes, it is really frustrating to me how none of the characters really seem to "trust" each other like half the stuff could be avoided if the characters would actually talk to one another and didn't keep every thing to themselves. Just get a divorce to be honest.

Also the house is so dark, no wonder the couple is so depressed. Who wants to live like that.

Really? You judge a show and claim to be all-knowing when you haven’t even seen one episode to test your biases? The show is NOTHING like the regular Shyamalan stuff. He isn’t even the writer on the show. He’s attached mostly for his name recognition.

These series that drag on for the sake of dragging on for too many seasons, I don’t watch them anymore.

It’s a fu#$|ng drug!

I prefer mini-series, or original content that has an interesting beginning and an clear end. Like (The Queen’s Gambit)

You cannot compare Apple TV+ to HBO. That's completely unfair. HBO is still Mecca for serious writers and showrunners because of its strong executive staff. Apple TV+ has nothing that comes close to the quality and maturity of Chernobyl or The Wire but there's hope in the years to come.

Yeah, Netflix's throw everything at the wall and see what sticks approach to programming can be disconcerting if you end up liking one of their offerings and they aren't exactly transparent, many of their "announcements" are buried in the virtual backpages so it is easy to miss or even know that a show you like has been canceled.

Apples, "build an audience" for a show suits me better.

There are some like that, but plenty that go on for multiple seasons that aren't.

But Apple has Eddy!! :)

Really, really liked this show, more than I expected I would. Glad to see them sticking to it!
