I don't follow Hockey much these days but I can picture it being a lot of fun in person, especially during the playoffs.I find all sports better in person. Hockey especially I love in person but it is so boring on tv.

And you are implying that everyone that posts here pays Apple for AppleTV+I don't know which is worse, your erroneous statement or that at least 10 people gave a thumbs up to this incorrect statement. Let me quote from the initial MR post:
"While the games were free to watch last season, an Apple TV+ subscription is now required, with U.S. pricing set at $6.99 per month or $69 per year."
You aren't paying $6.99 a month for just FNB. It's for all of Apple TV+, which includes Friday Night Baseball. And the Apple hate just keeps on growing, clearly based on ignorance of facts.
ESPN and Fox probably have them on a bunch of times anywayOnly one Red Sox game?
Thank you for that. I misunderstood. It's not an extra $70 per year, they just mean you need an Apple TV+ subscription to watch this time. Last year, you didn't need an Apple TV+ subscription.
New announcers this yearHaha, no thanks. Baseball is a regional sport now... I watched the broadcasts last year for my team the Blue Jays, and the commentary and analysis was so robotic... These people don't have a clue about the inner workings of the team as the local team broadcaster.
They expect me to pay $69 to watch 4-6 games of my team per season? That's as much as it costs me to pay for the sports streaming service of my home team's broadcaster for the full baseball season.
Sorry, the value is not there. I'll listen on the radio for those games.
Now that is a huge plusThe good news is that we'll have a choice between the "National" commentators and the local radio broadcast!
It's no different than people who might only want to subscribe to watch Ted Lasso. No one is forcing you to do it and if you do subscribe it's on you to maximize your subscription if you choose to by watching other things...And you are implying that everyone that posts here pays Apple for AppleTV+
I don't, and have no plans to. And here in Canada, it' $8.99 + 13% tax, so just a little over $10/month, for what would equal to me is two baseball games of interest to me on a month that happens to carry two of them.
No Apple hate, I own multiple Apple products, I just don't pay for any services. I just pointed out a service that's of poor value TO ME.
That's fine for those people who want to, I have no desire to watch Ted Lasso or any of the other shows on ATV+.It's no different than people who might only want to subscribe to watch Ted Lasso. Here in germany I had to change to my old us account, to watch big inning last year for free. It’s showing up in the app for me (in England) but obviously the matches are a few weeks away.
To be fair…not sure what team you’re a fan of but the situation you describe hasn’t been the case in many cities for a long time. That's fine for those people who want to, I have no desire to watch Ted Lasso or any of the other shows on ATV+.
I'm a fan of my local baseball team, and until now I could watch all the games of a season without paying extra over my local broadcaster fees, who owns the team and who owns the ballpark.
Now I cannot, and I refuse to pay Apple or anyone else to force me into yet another content subscription for a handful of my team's games for more money than it costs me to watch the whole rest of the season's games.
It would have been nice if it was offered for FREE like last year.
No, it’s available in 60 countries and regions.Looks like it is available only in US.
How streaming was meant to be. Pay for what you want to see. Apple gets it right on this one. I am not a big fan of MLB. Why should I subsidize those who are example. Same with the channels. I turn them on and off when they meet or miss my current viewing wishes. Apple TV base price gives me a curated what’s happening and a base number of content. My choice from there. Streaming as designed. 👍
This why I like SiriusXM, MLB, NBA, Football and other sports they stream both home and national broadcasts. As much as it hurts to agree with a Jays fan, as an O's fan, I agree 100%. National baseball broadcasts are good for exposure to a wide market, but as far as actually knowing the team, they just don't and really can't be expected to.
Parking and a hotdog plus a beer or two pays for a full year of AppleTV +. Some sports with multiple cameras, close ups, replays etc are better seen on TV. I agree being there can be better. Like watching a concert live vs on TV, the experience is very different. If you’re in nosebleed seats your watching it on a very large TV anyways.I find all sports better in person. Hockey especially I love in person but it is so boring on tv.
I subscribe to MLB.tv for a lot more money so you're preaching to the choir on paying for televised sports.Parking and a hotdog plus a beer or two pays for a full year of AppleTV +. This price is baked into the main price, it isn't an add-on like MLS is. So based on what you are saying, you wouldn't consider this a good thing.this is a good thing as I choose not to watch MLB and do not wish to pay for it.. I perfer the Ala cart approach.
I only went by and responded to your comment. Thanks for the chuckleI subscribe to MLB.tv for a lot more money so you're preaching to the choir on paying for televised sports.
MLB.TV is still a great product and even better value if you wait a bit and get the discountsI subscribe to MLB.tv for a lot more money so you're preaching to the choir on paying for televised sports.
