Apple TV+ today released the first trailer for the second season of its globally acclaimed drama original series "Silo," which is set to premiere on November 15, 2024.

Based on Hugh Howey's "Wool" series of dystopian novels, Silo tells the story of the last ten thousand people on Earth, who live in a mile-deep underground silo designed to protect them from a toxic world outside. The first season, which premiered on Apple TV+ in May 2023, became one of the streaming service's standout hits.

Season two follows Juliette (played by Rebecca Ferguson, who also serves as executive producer), an engineer determined to uncover dark secrets within the silo after the murder of a loved one, leading her deeper into danger.

The cast sees the return of Tim Robbins, Common, Harriet Walter, and more, with the addition of Steve Zahn. Season two is scheduled to unfold over 10 episodes, with one new episode released each Friday following the November 15 premiere. The season finale is set to air on January 17, 2025.

I thought the first season of Silo was okay, but I think the season could have been shorter and made for a tighter storytelling experience. Having read the books I think season 2 could be a significant step up for the show moving forward. I’m looking forward to it.

The series was so good I had to read the books.
First season was excellent! Heard the books were even better and I purchased them. Still deciding if I want to read to catch up before the second season starts, or read even further or just wait until after the second season. Guess I'm running out of time! I do know it deviates from the books. As the author said in an interview it is basically the same story told from a different way/perspective.

I did the same thing as mcled53, and I'm glad I read (listened on Audible) all the books. The show does approach the books slightly different but things that happened in season 1, I found in later books, so I think they will tie it all together in the end. I'm super excited for season 2. I may go back a watch season 1 again and maybe even listen to all the books before I watch it.

I love this series. The question is, do I watch show to show and sweat out every week until the next Friday? Or do wait for the whole series to end and BINGE!? HHHHHH Dilemma.
You can't possibly wait for the whole series to be released before to watch after all this wait?!

Watch every week, and then you make a rewatch of all eps. after they are all released instead.

My most anticipated show of the year. Still can't believe it's actually coming out this year considering the strikes.

November is going to be a busy month. Lower Decks is close to ending, Arcane returns, and Silo is back. It's exciting.

Another excellent streaming show that is only 10 episodes. Then the long wait for is it being renewed for another season, if yes now wait for it to be produced. Then strikes and the downturn of film/TV industry. Yes, I like the convenience of streaming and I can watch a show on my schedule, but rest I don't like. I joined Apple TV and at first all excited lots of excellents shows, being new I had multiple seasons to watch of many, but after a couple months I had watched everything that interested me. Then the wait for what shows are continuing and when will they come out. Then 10 episodes and repeat the waiting game. Worse latest trend some new stream series are only 8 episodes. I think streaming TV is shooting itself in the foot.

I start watching about halfway through the season, so I have a buffer of "just one more!" episodes. This way I get multiple a week, and don't have to wait for the whole season to air.

The series was so good I had to read the books.
I also read the book that takes place after season 1. I didn't like the story with the frozen and thawed people, it was too weird, I didn't finish the book.
I hope the second season doesn't revolve around that!
