I start watching about halfway through the season, so I have a buffer of "just one more!" episodes. This way I get multiple a week, and don't have to wait for the whole season to air.
FABULOUS! That is exactly what I am going to do!

I will have to see if I am strong enough to hold off for 2.5 months to binge the entire show at one time. I did that with Season 4 of Slow Horses but that was only 6 episodes. I probably won't be able to hold out but I may try.

I came for Rebecca Ferguson, and stayed for the actual story

The original reason I got into Silo was because of the Mission Impossible Franchise and I was on a Rebecca Ferguson kick at the time. Then I watched Silo and it became my favorite new series last year and now I'm eagerly anticipating Season 2. I have to do a season 1 rewatch eventually, but I don't have a problem with that.

There is "dark lighting" now there is "Silo dark lighting". I guess this is "natural light is better", but I have lost interest (older iPad/Monitor -- do not have HDR -- and this goes beyond natural lighting re: being dark). Just... So Dark. When I watch Breaking Bad for the Nth time, I wonder at the beauty of the scenes. Not just the story, but the beauty of the scene. Impossible with modern shows/movies. I guess it is "more naturally artistic", but sorry, "I just do not get it". I often cannot see anything except some small feature highlighted in comp. Anyway... Flame away. NSC.

If I recall correctly it was episode 3 which was almost unwatchable. It was ridiculous. I thought maybe I was having a stroke but after researching online I was relieved to read that many people had the same complaint.

Hopefully they replaced the colour graders and editors as the previous season ones were mole people kept in a dark basement with only an Apple XDR display for company. For the rest of us mere mortals, most of the content was invisibly dark.

I also read the book that takes place after season 1. I didn't like the story with the frozen and thawed people, it was too weird, I didn't finish the book.
I hope the second season doesn't revolve around that!
As is often the case - book 1 was good enough to launch a TV show, then it'll diverge. Dexter is another good example. M*A*S*H too.

Wahoo! I thought this and slow horses were my favourite shows.

I’ve not really found much else I enjoyed
I think the same. I found Severance tolerable, but way too many "walking down the identical halls" scenes. And Foundation has a great story line and beautiful CGI-set design and effects, but glacial exposition, given that it has thousands of years to cover.

I'm getting good value out of Apple TV+ now. I have pared my subscriptions down to just this and YouTube. Slow Horses has turned out to be great TV. The soaring highs of Disclaimer make its low points - like the clunky dialogue and plotting - almost charming in a way. Like an endearingly flawed masterpiece. I know I may be the only one, but Sugar was right up my street. To my amazement I am even enjoying Where's Wanda. I came for shows like Silo, was turned off by some of their early storytelling and absurd product placement, but now I am having a really good time with it. I see here that most people get by on free trials, but I'm the sucker who pays - I just can't give it up at the moment because of Disclaimer/Where's Wanda.

The series was so good I had to read the books.
Ditto! Really eager to see how they approach certain parts of it, especially the structure of book 2.

I love this series. The question is, do I watch show to show and sweat out every week until the next Friday? Or do wait for the whole series to end and BINGE!? HHHHHH Dilemma.
That might be a long wait - season one only covered the first half of book one (of three).

Another excellent streaming show that is only 10 episodes. Then the long wait for is it being renewed for another season, if yes now wait for it to be produced. Then strikes and the downturn of film/TV industry. Yes, I like the convenience of streaming and I can watch a show on my schedule, but rest I don't like. I joined Apple TV and at first all excited lots of excellents shows, being new I had multiple seasons to watch of many, but after a couple months I had watched everything that interested me. Then the wait for what shows are continuing and when will they come out. Then 10 episodes and repeat the waiting game. Worse latest trend some new stream series are only 8 episodes. I think streaming TV is shooting itself in the foot.
Yeah but they have as much quality content as the 22 episode runs of the olden days did. I’m quite happy without all the filler.

Mind you, that was always an American thing. Series have always been shorter where I live.

Time to get an OLED!

This was a weird show. By far the most interesting character was the wife of the sheriff who died in the first episode. The show quickly devolved into predictable plot that was just not very believable even for sci fi. And the main character was not interesting. I ended up reading the synopsis to have all my predictions confirmed. Severance on the other hand....

I just hope these shows dont fall apart like Lost with no real idea behind them other than hook the audience with mystery.
