So it’s funny how all apple originals have this very like, indie cinematic look and feel, dark high contrasty. Not necessarily a bad thing, but I always subconsciously get this feeling that I’m about to watch a serious film disguised as a comedy.

Good observation. All of their movies seem to have the same cinematic feel.

I still haven't found much of interest in Apple TV's programming options. Of course I'm older than the guys running Apple, and two generations removed from their main customer base, so no surprise there! My free trial runs out at the end of June so I'm not going to renew it. I've watched only a handful of original Apple programs in the 9 months I've had the free trial. I use the ATV 4K for most of what I watch, but almost none of that is Apple's programming. BTW, I tried to watch an episode of the new Peanuts show just for nostalgia, but the sound wouldn't work with it. That is the only show I’ve ever not been able to get sound with, so they must of screwed it up somehow. Another turn off to Apple TV programming is that, just like Amazon's Prime Video, most of the movies I want to watch cost extra to either buy or rent because they are not Apple originals.

Thank you for describing exactly so nicely how I feel but couldn't quite put it in words about most of the Apple TV+ shows.
I just want something lighthearted. Comedy with no strings attached... Ted Lasso for the win.

Yes!!! This looks amazing!!!! I’ve been waiting for news on this one forever!!!

You can navigate to the Apple TV+ tab via the channels section or you can go to the Apple TV+ tab that is right next to watch now

You sound like my father and his review of AppleTV+ shows. I keep trying to turn him onto the services but even if he likes what he sees, he just says that there's not enough good content for him. Of course he's coming from 1000 cable channels of garbage and Netflix and values quantity over quality. I think it comes down to choice and generational differences. Apple TV+ is still too new and mostly caters to young people and millennials so far so it makes sense.

BTW, there have been no reports of Peanuts sound quality issues on ATV anywhere I've looked. It has to be your particular software or hardware.

I am excited for this. Those two look like they are perfect for the roles. ATV+ content has been slowly gaining speed, but I hope that speed picks up a little. I want to have a steady reason to go to the streaming platform, not just every 4-5 months or so when something compelling comes out.

Sounds and looks too much like a Seinfeld TV show, not sure I'll watch this but will give first show a chance. AppleTV shows have surprised me in the past.
It literally sounds and looks nothing like Seinfeld, can you elaborate on the similarities that you seem to find?

You don't know that. For all you know Will Farrell a) reads MacRumours, and b) is quite thin-skinned.
This is quite comical. You're concerned about how Will Farrell will take negative comments here about him but this forum can trash Tim Cook daily (who runs a company that is talked about every single day here) with zero care about how he feels and all he is doing is selling you a computer. SMH.

I'm guessing what most people will find more comical is that you didn't catch the humor in the post you're commenting on and that it appears you took it seriously instead of noting that he/she came up with a hilarious scenario in response to the OP. It's amazing how jokes fly right over some people's heads.

If you can't cogently connect the dots to Seinfeld, *Robert is going to have to ask you to step outside.:p Robert can't sit by while you malign one of the great sitcoms of all time. Robert doesn't like misunderstandings. Robert and misunderstandings kinda clash.

* for those without the humor gene, the smiley constitutes a raz or joking manner, lest Robert be reported for saying something Robert didn't really say.

I hate Will Farrell.
Will emailed Robert after seeing your comment and wanted Robert to tell you that seeing your remark really crushed him. He wants you to give him another chance to make things right in your t.v. viewing life with this new comedy. And if you still hate him after seeing the new show, he will send you a brand new signed poopy cushion.

It was only that Peanuts show on Apple TV, so they must have screwed up the sound on that episode. I’ll go back to see if it works now. All other shows work correctly.

Apple TV original programming isn’t created to appeal to people like me in their 60s. I mostly watch documentaries, sitcoms, automotive shows, building shows, crime dramas etc. That kind of programming probably doesn’t appeal to the younger generations that much. I really don’t care for relationship drama about people half my age. Already been there, done that decades ago! :) I also don’t care for movies or shows that depend mostly on CGI rather than great acting and cinematography.

There is always going to be a generation gap and differences in entertainment choices. My parents preferred shows we thought were awful, and vice versa. That is perfectly understandable of course. Apple is creating shows mostly for people in their 20s, 30s, and maybe 40s. So I don’t expect to see much in that selection that appeals to me. But it doesn’t matter because I can find plenty of shows on Netflix, Britbox, Hulu, Philo, etc. and still watch them on my ATV 4K. I also have Amazon’s Prime Video, and oddly enough I find a lot more of their original programming worth watching. I think Amazon probably has a more diversified concept of audience though. Apple is more limited.

It’s OK. What you don’t know is everyone here who says anything negative about Tim Cook is actually a personal friend of his, and it’s all a big in-joke that Tim finds hilarious. I’m sorry, I know it feels unpleasant to be excluded, we ought to stop having these cliquey in-jokes on the forums.
