"....and that's the new Apple TV, we think you're going to love it! You can purchase this...today." -Tim

I was thinking about ordering one today but now I think I'll just wait for the new one.

I'm still using an ATV2.

I am pretty sure the value of that is worth a ton. And when an App Store is released for the ATV the value will drop significantly. Since you don't need to jailbrake it for as much functionality.

Hate to disappoint people but......

I miss the storage capacity of the first generation Apple TV.
Glad to see they're adding some back to the upcoming model. Though likely for different reasons.

I'm really close to dropping Comca$t (cable) so I really hope Apple announces a game changing streaming service.

I'm close to giving sling tv a whirl. Has anyone used it or have any comments on sling TV?

Cannot.wait.

Hate to disappoint people but......

Well, maybe they caught themselves to prevent the anticipation.

Besides, it says STARTING AT: which means there could be a higher end model coming.

Such a great idea!

I'd love to see the ability to plug in a USB device to play media through an apple based interface. Current "smart" TVs have horrible experiences with the way it handles media.

Even a card slot for SD media would suffice. I have the SD and HD versions of all my movies downloaded to a Time capsule and a few other Ext. hard drives for safe keeping. Being able to play movies when the internet goes out would be AWESOME!!:cool::cool::cool:

Yes, I know i could simply stream them from the Time Capsule via iTunes sharing on a computer, but I found that to be rather quirky. There were a lot of little jumps and pauses from the Apple TV not maintaining a connection to the Time Capsule or something like that.

I wish my building would allow for Verizon FiOS.

Verizon stopped building out FIOS.

When is CW going to be on Apple TV they said 2 years ago it will soon come to Apple TV I really want to watch Supernatural I missed a episode, CW on iPhone sucks no Airplay and I got no CW On Demand on cable.

CW is on Hulu.

And Hulu has an app for the Apple TV.

As expected, it's back in stock in the US store. MR so hungry for the clicks with these shipping slips...looks desperate.

Just like the anticipated iMac refresh article on April 19th. Maybe Apple purposely changes dates just to see Joe write an article.

Roku, then buy your episode from Amazon.

I don't think the apple tv currently allows for a usb connection or external media? Could be wrong. If it isn't already there I doubt it gets supported on the new one. Apple seems to want users to switch to online streaming services or iTunes rather than storage of local media.

I do think its inevitable that apple will eventually have some form of gaming or iOS apps, but it remains to be seen how that does. Not saying it would be a flop, it could sell very well, but don't think it's going to replace gaming on a PS4/xbox/whatever for those who play games on those systems.

As expected, it's back in stock in the US store.

That might mean they are selling faster than Apple expected, and faster than they can adjust the ATV production supply chain upwards.

Hotcakes.

WWDC is in way more than 2 weeks. Wouldn't Apple push it back to 4-6 weeks if they anticipate filling orders with the new models?

They would tweak and re-adjust and fine tune their supply chain so they can still get lots of sales and revenue (it's many millions of $$$) on the current model for several weeks, but run out to zero left on the shelves and no parts on the way for the current model on exactly the day before WWDC.

College Football is the only reason I still have Comcast. If I can get a package directly via Apple, buh-by Comcast!!!

Regardless, I have the Apple TV 2G so getting the 4G is a no-brainer. :D

Definitely buying a new Apple TV. I hope it can be used as a HomeKit hub. I'm ready to begin embracing a wider home automation strategy after getting a Nest two years ago. I'd like to get something that can lockdown my house and provide some security that can be easily managed from my phone and use Siri. There has been a robbery spree on my street lately so I'm concerned. So window and door sensors would be great, as well as front and back cameras with two-way communication, something to intelligently match my patterns to turn on and off lights when I'm on vacation, and remote door locking/garage door opening. I'm willing to spend around $1000 give or take a few hundred.

I'm also excited about Siri coming to Apple TV and an App Store. Hopefully we can get some gaming going on the thing. I've got my Xbox One tucked away in my man cave. A more casual gaming platform would be welcome in the living room. And no the Wii U is dumb.
