i would like to purchase single channel subscriptions not entire packages thats the main thing i hate about cable is all the crap i don't even watch. Apple please let me just pay for the channels i want not a bunch of crap i don't

Having a native Plex app would be awesome. The trailers work around can be a pain some days.

I don't think the apple tv currently allows for a usb connection or external media? Could be wrong. If it isn't already there I doubt it gets supported on the new one. Apple seems to want users to switch to online streaming services or iTunes rather than storage of local media.

I do think its inevitable that apple will eventually have some form of gaming or iOS apps, but it remains to be seen how that does. Not saying it would be a flop, it could sell very well, but don't think it's going to replace gaming on a PS4/xbox/whatever for those who play games on those systems.

I think the 'storage issues' are a bit overblown. If you want lots of storage for your Apple TV, there is 2 options.

1. All Itunes purchased movies come with a version in the cloud. This means you only need to turn on your Apple TV with an internet connection to play your movies/tv shows etc.

2. Buy an external hard drive for your computer. Move all of your itunes content to it via your iTunes preferences.

I have been using option 2 for quite some time with no issues. :)

I'd love to see the ability to plug in a USB device to play media through an apple based interface. Current "smart" TVs have horrible experiences with the way it handles media.

Yeah, especially an external hard drive. It would also be nice if it could share that external hard drive with other Apple TVs on the network. I've been waiting for that for a while. Or if the Apple TVs could detect and connect to HFS+ formatted drives on the network.

Just bought an Apple TV, couldn't resist with the drop in price. I actually needed two but decided on just one for now and use it on the second TV. I will wait for this hopefully new one in June for the main TV.
New Apple TV, take my money please.

Apple TV's shipping estimate slipped to 1-2 weeks on the Apple Online Store in the United States today, less than six weeks before Apple is rumored to announce a new version of the set-top box at WWDC 2015 on June 8-12. The shipping times initially slipped to 1-2 weeks on the Apple Online Store on late Wednesday before the set-top box returned to in stock on Thursday, only to slip to 1-2 weeks again hours later.

A number of Apple products have been given longer shipping estimates in the past few weeks, possibly because of Apple Watch congestion within the company's supply chain and delivery channels, so this change could be nothing more than a regular fluctuation. But with WWDC set to take place in early June, and a new Apple TV set-top box expected to be announced, the timing of the shipping time slipping is worth noting.

The next-generation Apple TV is rumored to feature Apple's latest A8 system-on-a-chip and a "dramatic increase" in internal storage, well beyond the 8GB included in the current third-generation set-top box. BuzzFeed reported in March that the new Apple TV will also gain an App Store and Siri for controlling a wide selection of HomeKit-enabled home automation devices through the set-top box.

Apple TV was discounted to $69 in the U.S. in March.

Unless Apple fixes single sign-in for the majority of the ATV buying public, it makes no difference. The ATV 4 is actually worse than the ATV 3 because you have to reauthorize apps all the time, not just once every 6 months or so. I am so darn tired of reactivating the Watch ESPN app every time I wanted to watch a college baseball game that I am about ready to scream.

That's a network's job to take advantage of single sign on. Apple provides the feature but can't mandate it.
