Yes, because professional equipment is nicer, and better to use if you already own it.

What's your point here?

My point was the same as it has always been - there is no real reason (pandemic situation aside) for actually shooting a movie, TV show or commercial on a phone like has been done by people with access to professional equipment.

Sure there is, it's a fun change to their routine and can inspire those without pro equipment but with phones to make their own films.

Sometimes people do creative things because they like the challenge and creating limits can increase that challenge.

I guess you could call it challenging to deliberately handicap yourself with inferior equipment that produced worse results. Maybe the challenge would be to explain why you would bother doing it.

But to each his own - a small number of people have done it so I guess there are a few who need to punish, err challenge, themselves.

Yes, creativity often does well with some kind of restraint.

If you truly do think “to each his own”, why do you care about this at all?

Why climb Mount Everest when there are perfectly good helicopters available?

Sometimes working with limited resources can bring about creativity that would not have happened otherwise.

I don't really care about it. Just posted an idle question on a forum about it.

Technically, only one helicopter has ever landed on Mount Everest and that was a specially modified one that could only do it in perfect conditions after weeks of planning. :)

Ah, so you posted a question about something you didn’t care about, then argued with people who do?
Trolls gonna troll, I guess.

I really don't care about it. As I said I posted an idle musing about it on a public forum. You know, public forums, where people discuss things and have different points of view about a topic. If you think that is trolling I guess that is your prerogative.
