This is the first time I've heard anyone talk about Calls around here.

But it sounds like it's pretty good!

For All Mankind, def a great show but why are the first 6 episodes just sooo boring of each season. Both Season 1 & 2, final episodes you just can't put down and binge instantly, but the first 6 episodes, Snoozefest.

The first six episodes lay the groundwork for why the last four are so good...you wouldn't care about Deke Slayton if you just saw the last episode of season 1, but you care a hell of a lot if you watch the first nine episodes. It takes time to build the storyline and character connections, then you can make the connections and bang away on the finish.

The show is really good I think, and I suspect it's only going to get more interesting as they move further away from the track our reality followed.

It’s a decent show, but it’s nothing spectacular. Nobody wants to watch this show, there is no fan base. It’s mediocre. The media consumers these days demand bingeworthy content that has you on the edge of your seat. Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Chernobyl. All great examples of stellar shows with episode by episode gripping content.

Would you prefer a torrent of idiotic iPhone 17 rumors? Or about the VR headset that Apple may release sometime between 2025 and 2040? At least this TV news is something that actually happened.

Honestly? Yes. That’s the purpose of this site. Rumors. If I wanted TV guide I’d run over to that site to read about shows that apple has no hand in making and have zero to do with tech.

The expert has spoken!
Someone please take the awards away from this show. Someone made a huge mistake here.

Just like Apple itself, this website has kinda evolved too.

Exactly.

I remember when Apple meant Macintosh computers.

This was long before iPods, iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches, AirPods, etc. They evolved.

I remember the Mac-faithful getting pissed about the iPod... saying Apple shouldn't waste time on consumer electronics.

But it kinda worked out.

It’s fairly short so you might as well watch about two or three episodes to see if you’re into it. (You might be rather uncertain after the first.)

The Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed For All Mankind.

Head and shoulders above 99% of the guff on Netflix or Amazon Prime Video.

I must be honest, I rather like the Apple TV+ offerings. There are a couple of shows which don't interest us but I would imagine they are great shows for those who like those sort of programmes.

You have to scroll past 6 or 7 pants shows on Netflix/Amazon before finding something half decent to try vs Apple TV+ which almost all the shows are decent, there just isn't enough of them yet but for £4.99 a month I think its a good deal thus far.

Each to their own and all that...

Since Covid, I feel like I could submit a home video of my kids playing t-ball and win something. There is NOTHING out there in terms of good video entertainment. I watched "PIG" with Nick Cage recently, and based on a Covid standard, it wasn't terrible. Cried like a child at the end.
I heard that was brilliant.

For All Mankind - someone else called it "housewife drama" and for season 2 I definitely agree! Well done, but sooo much emphasis for on-Earth domestic drama. So much more time could have been spent on the on-Moon events on in-NASA events without the diversion. And IMO the ending was completely un-earned. The actions by certain people did not fit their character or their character's dialog up to that point.

The season 2 finale of For All Mankind was incredible and my favorite episode of any show in years. The season started off slow but everything served its purpose and led to that perfect finale. It wasn’t just one scene that was good, all of those story arcs ended wonderfully.

Yes... there was a time when Apple meant the Apple ][ computer.

But the Apple ][ was long gone by the time Apple starting dipping their toes into consumer electronics.

It was Mac users who were complaining about iPods and such... as I said.

Calls was stunning. Deserved it.

character and plot development.

I swear it’s like nobody watched any show or movies prior to 1985.

Series like this are not even worth time. If your show is not blowing my mind in 2 episodes you are done. My list of shows I want to watch is about 250 shows long. If I have to wade through boring before it picks up I just don’t bother. There is too much great stuff being made to put up with self indulgence. The broadcast TV people do such a better job of tightening up their movies. Every streaming service could lose a few episodes and a few minutes from their episodes. Nearly every Netflix movie needs 30 min trimmed.

The great thing about today is the wealth of shows for a diverse audience. Some people like slow burners, and other like to be grabbed by the seat of their pants. Doesn’t mean one is better than the other.
