So basically a reworking of the classic Star Trek episode 'This Side of Paradise'...
Maybe so. Better Call Saul is definitely a slower burn, but man I enjoyed it a lot more than Breaking Bad too.I find Breaking Bad easier to get into that newer shows like BCS.
It's like Guilligan knows he already has an audience that has patience to wait to be rewarded. And BCS is all in all a better show than BB.
Two more series I couldn’t get into either 😂.Something to watch while waiting for S3 of Severance and Silo
I also struggled with Breaking Bad when I tried to watch it many years ago…. could never get into it. However a couple of months ago, it popped up as “recommended” on my Netflix when I was looking for a new show to get into. Gave it a go and, to my surprise, this time I got into it! I’ve recently finished Season 3, and will probably start Season 4 this weekendI've tried to watch it three times now. On one of the times I made it a full season before giving up. It is not a show for me.
Edit: Just saw that WarmWinterHat said almost the exact same thing about it as I did.
It’s not for everyone, but no show is. The tone changes significantly after season one. I remember Vince being interviewed about it during the first season and him describing it as a dark comedy. Maybe that was true for season one but not later seasons.Wow I could never get into breaking bad starting watching it about 6 years ago and couldn’t get past 3 episodes 😂 maybe I should try again I just couldn’t get into it at all 🤷🏻♂️.
I’m looking at the trailers for this show and honestly don’t get it 😂 maybe I’m not a fan of the writer 🤣.It’s not for everyone, but no show is. The tone changes significantly after season one. I gave up my on first attempt of BB. Back in the days of renting dvds. When it showed up on Netflix, I gave it another shot and got drawn in. You can trust your instincts on this. No matter how much someone tells you that need to watch “whatever” it just might not be compelling to you.I’m looking at the trailers for this show and honestly don’t get it 😂 maybe I’m not a fan of the writer 🤣.
My wife hadn’t seen breaking bad. So we watched Saul together and then when it reaches the part with Mr White, I had her watch the entire Breaking Bad, so she could then watch the end of Saul.Better late than never, and watching seasons close together has its advantages.
It has already begun. One of the teaser trailers includes the plane crash bear from BB on a headband.Gilligan showrunning, Seehorn starring; the chances of this being great are very high.
The only thing is I can't wrap my head around is those two working together again, in Albuquerque, but Seehorn's not playing Kim Wexler, and it's not in the Gilliganverse. It will be an adjustment!
That said, knowing Gilligan's work, there's pretty much guaranteed to be easter eggs. There's gonna be a pizza on a roof somewhere.

I LOVED The Americans. The ending was incredibly good.Yeah it's when you can create one after another that it really just works. Breaking Bad did have a few seasons that I thought were not as good as others.. but it all ties in nicely. A really underrated TV series is The Americans.. if you ever need something to binge.
These trailers are terrible 😂 wow they really don’t make me think I really need to watch this 🤣. I’m I missing something 🤷🏻♂️.
I was stunned by the show. Such a slow burn, but holy character developmenet batman. They tied things together so well, I went on to watch breaking bad immediatley, and some of the things that Saul says that I had no idea why he said it then was unreal. I will try to manage my expectations on this one as I know it's a different world entirely.Better late than never, and watching seasons close together has its advantages.
