It's okay i guess.

Not really getting the same excitement i get when seeing/hearing the HBO logo.
But that might just be because of many years of amazing HBO tv shows.

In my head the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme tune always starts after that sound, regardless of what I’m watching. Which makes it quite amusing to watch something incredibly serious.

I rarely post anything negative, but the sound & animation feel ancient already. Are they going for a nostalgic feel? Not representative of the Apple we've known.

I hate it anyway. It’s at once bland and generic, while also being distracting.

To be fair, the old one was also a little bland and generic, but at least it was short and also cool.

How are they going to redesign this on the TV & Home page without it hurting peoples heads?

When the first announced the rebrand, it was before Apple announced other products and I got excited. Will we finally get some upgrades to the Home hardware and can I shop Apple for the Holidays? Now about 5 Macrumors articles later and the rebranding being official, I still don't think this means anything other than changing the logo and losing the +. I wish I was wrong because I could use a new Apple TV with a USB C Remote (Mainly the remote).

Launching this and the new online App Store makes me hopeful that they will launch a new Apple TV is weak and most likely tomorrow. An TV with a a17 pro and a fan is an instant buy for me. I would have less use for my Xbox.

I for one like it.

Now Apple has to come up with more than a handful of good shows and I might see it from time to time.

I would love to see a gritty political drama similar to Boss starring Kelsey Graham from the early 2010s and something like Succession from HBO. Apple plays it too safe with their shows. I do think the show "The Savant" might be good though.

What about "The Executive"?
A gritty drama about an Ops guy who climbs the ranks and comes to dominate a well known SV tech company?

I love the new rainbow glass intro, and musicality.

But I think it was – unusually for Apple – poorly introduced in a drip-drip way… First it was mentioned in a press-release, then some comments were added by Eddy Cue, and now the new identity in animated form. (And we still don't have the rumoured new tv device.)

It feels like the new hardware, intro, press release, interviews with "vibrant new identity" comments, should have all occurred together to be as coherent as the service itself is.

It's led to some unfortunate commentary on social media, where people are saying things like "Apple paid x $ for that?!" – because all they've seen is the logo with and without the +.

aTV functionality?

my 2020 Panasonic TV has aTV+
when MLS became a thing I can select that too.

I can't watch films I've purchased or any other aTV functionality, just MLS & aTV+

The app icon is still aTV+ but when it starts it shows just aTV now instead of aTV+ as it did before.

I have no idea why apple made the app just do aTV+ and not aTV like on the LG tv's I have. Many people where very confused with the aTV+ not being able to stream purchased content or purchase new content.

does anyone know if apple plan to roll out full aTV functionality to apps that just have aTV+?
