The update has removed every, single tvOS specific feature. Its just a wrapper loading the content from the YouTube web-app (YouTube.com/TV) so get used to not having a single tvOS feature ever supported. Awful update.

The best way to provide feedback would be to go through the official channels;

You can give feedback directly to Google/YouTube; https://www.youtube.com/tv_feedback
And you can also give feedback directly to Apple; https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html

And it doesn't hurt to give everyone a tweet as well;

@teamyoutube @youtube @google @Apple

There is also a thread over at the Google forums for feedback; https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topic/youtube/O_QjzLHptbc

After all the bitching and whining about how out of date the You Tube app was... it finally got an update - made it less apple and less user friendly.

Great

Playlists are pointless. You can't get to the list, it goes straight into the first video.
[doublepost=1518238478][/doublepost]I'm just streaming Youtube from Safari now.

Having to scroll through subscriptions in alphabetical order to get to the one you want is an unbelievable mess.

A huge step backwards that unfortunately may make the app unusable for me.

Does it play content? If yes then its not unusable because it does whats intended.

As soon as I saw the updated UI I knew what they had done. There is an unofficial YouTube app on the Fire TV that looks just like this monstrosity. It sucks to use too. Even Prime is better and it does it’s own thing as well. Too bad ... the stock Apple TV UX is my favorite for a streaming box.

You still can play content so obvious its not unusable.

People buy apple products partly because of the user experience - they work well and are enjoyable to use.

This is horrible to use.

I realise the app isn't made by apple - thats quite obvious.

It plays videos but at the expense of UX/UI. The user interface has made it more difficult to access that content putting the 'usable' claim in question.

Technically, the old app was simply deleted and replaced with a webpage.

Exactly... I’ve found the UI so difficult to use I just don’t watch YouTube as much. I can fight the UI if I really want to watch something, but 9/10 times I just choose to skip YouTube. That is exactly the opposite effect any app update should have.

I have totally abandoned the app since they introduced the update. I have streamed everything from Safari or the iOS app on my iPhone. It's the only way to cleanly play pause and scroll through. There are also a lot fewers ads this way. I tried going into the app on the Apple TV for the first time in weeks and hated it so much I stopped playback of the video and went back to streaming things to the Apple TV. I'm seriously thinking of deleting the app off the Apple TV.

I hated the update and found scrolling buggy. Since a subsequent update, scrolling has been fix and now as easy as scrolling left or right without having to scroll up and click. Now I also pause using the play/pause button on the remote rather than clicking the touch pad.

Discovery of videos is so much easier and I like that I can subscribe to new channels and browse through its content with ease. I've now move on and don't miss the old app.
